#NYFW Day 2 - Favorites Looks from A Detacher to Suno

I think there are some fabulous looks from yesterday's shows and they need to be highlighted here and now.

From A. Detacher, I loved the minimalist chic to graphic layering and mixing of the various materials and prints. The cuts and detail in each piece truly shows the craft and artistry she puts into every piece of the collection.

Then from Academy of Art University, I love the boldness route they took and funky choices.
The winter layering, graphics, long coats, coats with details of fine merino wool, watercolored, woven leather with a art piece emblazoned in it and a little brocade. Loved the represention of menswear as well.

Cowgirl debonaire at Cushnie et Ochs. I quite loved the touch with the hats and hats to the girls for their always sexy and slender looks they present every season. I like how every piece molds to the body to give off a long silhouette not to mention, create attention to the shoulders and sexy décolletage.

Then there was Kate Spade, who proved that preppy color blocking is in fact never out and mixed media will forever mix. Quite minimal as separate pieces and I love how the coats are a simple bold color and feminine. There is colors, sequins, boxy coats, graphics, glam black outfits involving fur and beading embroidery.
Even though I dont like overtly feminine, I love the styling of these outfits and want it ad nauseum.

Then at Jason Wu, he always dazzles us with something new. A very feminine collection with some masculine tough touches. The makeup and hair was tied back and very bare faced. Which means a stark contrast to the clothing. The clothing really shines. Some pieces giving the illusion of a velvety satin material which is genius.

I mean glamourous pieces like that fur detailing on that pale pink brushed coat. The embroidered work on the top of that black coat, is that the new jewelled collar/shoulders?

Another great show was Emerson by Jackie Frasier Swan. I love edgy leather pieces, geometric squared pieces, and cool boots and creepers. I like outfits like these, deep tones for the all black army here in NYC. A little bit of sheer here and there.

And lastly, Suno and Rag and Bone.

Suno made more lovely graphic prints but had paneled material like golden lame on a dress front, the sleeves or dress hem. For some reason, it felt very ethnic via African tribal and asian traditions. And who is a model at Suno, Yumi Lambert, aren't you just mesmerized by her eyes?

Rag and Bone did a sporty look I loved. I know the track jacket all too well plus brown woolen long shorts, am I an english schoolgirl now? Not to mention the model's names on said track jacket, thats neat as hell. I like the downtown vibe with school girl flair. Once again the hair is back and makeup is minimal.

Gotta love Day 2 from the designers, some hit the nail on the head of some amazing new styling and colors to try to wear and others just played it way too safe.
