J. Crew yesterday unveiled a simple and yet full of ideas collection that was light, airy and very spring/summerish. Overall it was cohesive in terms of silhouettes, nothing like prints really popped out to me except a couple of striped navajo inspired baja patterns that contributed to my vacation mindset. It was quite loose fitting, dropped waist things which I enjoy. Not to mention, the push for Bermuda Shorts, which nearly half of my summer wardrobe consists of. Capris and Bermudas, cool and nothing is like them. The only ones that suck are ones that jut out too much from the waist length's width.
I really loved the rainy day utility olive green jacket, it has that paddington sort of style from how its draped on the model. Not to mention, the separates type of styling continues in this collection. Which I love, it really opens your mind to different ways of wearing something if you cant think of it when you have something too matchy matchy.
Then those deconstructed boyfriend denim pants, I always love a new pair of those. The bottoms of these look like pajama pants, which is really cool, meaning it gives off that vibe, not that they actually are. :)
Again, looseness prevails. I love the printing on the white short jacket. I see that being a popular piece among J.Crew fans and diehards. But I love the denim tunic and navy blue bermudas on the right photo. Its very normal, very comfortable looking but most of all, its simple yet chic. You cant beat that type of combination. Just imagine styling it up with accessories if you want? The possibilities are endless, for your style! (Plus the legendary J.Crew Statement Necklaces and Bracelets apply here).
God, need I say more. I want these.
And for the mens, a little bit more fitted yet casual. He is not overly uptight but likes to look good and clean. Feeling comfortable in his skin with some little elements of color here and there while adhering to the basic neutral colors such as blues, blacks, whites, khakis.
The Baja style Oversweater I need. If this can be made for women, that would be awesome. (I do have one already but I love the darker hues with this one and J.Crew does not stiff out on their textures and materials).
Plus the look on the right, a nice light jacket on top of your fitted pants with some smart oxford style shoes really is a great touch. Plus the neckerchief is novelty.
Just the way everything comes together, I commend Jenna Lyons for.
