Show that were all happening on NYFW Day 1 include but not limited to: Anne Bowen, BCBG Max Azria, Richard Chai Love, Duckie Brown, Toni Maticevski, Ports 1961, La Perla, Farah Angsana, Heart's Truth, Bespoken, Christopher Augmon, Cushnie Et Ochs, Chado Ralph Rucci, Erin Wasson x RVCA, Falls, Elene Cassis, Daniel Vosovic, Kara Ross, Johnathan Simkhai, Jen Kao, LNA, L.A.M.B., Oumlil, Robert Tonner, and lastly Vena Cava!
All of the collections are amazing and some were just kinda boring.
There are eight collections by seven designers that I would love to add commentary for.
Those seven being Erin Wasson x RVCA, Vena Cava, Ports 1961, BCBG Max Azria, Cushnie et Ochs, L.A.M.B., and Chado Ralph Rucci.
Erin Wasson x RVCA Fall 2010 RTW = Long Rompers, layering, cut out shirts, bad yet chic girl, comfort, beret beanie hats, black and whites, leggings, boy shorts, pant less, fur coats, dresses over long sleeves, and cool masculinity with feminine touches.
Vena Cava Fall 2010 RTW = Zorro style spanish hats and outfits. Aztec like necklace. Asymmetrical jackets, see through silhouttes. Deep blacks. Deep colored brush stroked honeycomb jacket. Off side belts. Fur Collar. silhoutte fitting dress. tilled shoulder black dress. ruched metallic golds (dress and tulip like skirt). Mosaic. Romper with collars.
Ports 1961 Fall 2010 RTW = Wellie rain boots, white futuristic caps. rustic vests like a western fisherman militant style. ghost buster like suit rompers. symmetric and asymmetric dresses with cut outs. disco like dresses. suede and leathers. luxurious fabrics. electric shock and water rippling dresses and tops. 70s style. Deep tones. Solar system universe colored long flowing dress.
BCBG Max Azria Fall 2010 RTW = Asymmetric dresses with bold splashes of colors. Browns, blacks. Pollock and Kandinsky influence. Bold lines. Definite lines. Soft silk, jersey dresses. some see through shoulders. rhythmic wavy collar at neckline. Disco color chiffon dress, black.
L.A.M.B. Fall 2010 RTW = Belts all-around, spider web shirt, outlined pants, jail 40s-50s style makeup, earthy camouflage pants. spray painted items. brush stroke flowy off shoulder tops. Leathers. Bold colors, navy silk jackets. Femme Fatale in a way. Laced calf boots. silver lame jacket.
Cushnie et Ochs Fall 2010 RTW = Luxurious flair. black embroidery details. Feathered tops and dresses. Fur. Leather. Metallic lined vertical skirt. deep tones, cuts, wool knit dresses, tough euro chic design like, see through checkered print top, leather printed leggings with design, patterns, fishnet, perforated tops, black and white, good sowing skills, glitter, structured & asymmetrical designs.
Chado Ralph Rucci Fall 2010 RTW = fur coat dresses,ruched thigh boots, detail skirts, lovely materials, brush strokes all around on ends and bottoms, military influence, deep earth tones, zebra prints, beiges, ribbon waists, bandage pants with ribbon, bold outlines, strong thinnish eyebrows, deep nude to pale nude lips. bold outline under and around eyes. See throughs, bubble style fur coat, fabulous silhouettes & my favorite which is a yellowish gray undertone yellow brush paint line on the bottom of the large pea coat type of jacket.
Jen Kao Fall 2010 RTW = Rocker flair, leather pieces, tough but feminine rocker, jersey styles, ultra cool chic. LOVE LOVE LOVE
Daniel Vosovic Fall 2010 RTW = Finally the true genius brain child of PR alum comes out. Beautiful asian models. Asymmetrical cuts to the right places. lovely netrucal colors. A nice traveler ancient type leggings and dress with a lovely belt. strong shouldered top, nice materials. Structured suits and dresses. Lovely contrats! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Richard Chai Love Fall 2010 RTW = 90s grunge influence with feminine touches, nice layers, flowy dresses and tops. Lovely contrasts. Great neutral hues used. Black long sleeve gloves. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I thought all the designers were amazing, thank you day 1 :)
