#NYFW Day 5 Highlights - More Prints to Appliques

Day 5 gave us more prints but aesthetically competitive streaks amongst the different runway shows. These designers I felt brought it today.

Carolina Herrera - The ever old world bijeaux glamour that the Carolina Herrera brand entails, continues in a lucid stream of detailing in ladylike fluid dresses. The tri-layered long sleeve watercolored sky blue and navy dress with the embroidered collar is gorgeous. The cascading fur vest with the chic belted white silk long dress. The cuts, silhouettes and details in this collection is so feminine, it makes even me want to wear a dress like this to a function and be the center of natural beauty attention. Beautifully done.

3.1 Phillip Lim - What I have been waiting for. Stranded quilt bomber long jackets in an array of different patterning like english houndstooth on a rebellion. Loved the paperboy bag style pants in the matching top. The exposed zippers. The wool peacoats with an embroidered trace black line running across the waist. Downtown chic as per usual with a new flair. I love this collection as much as when Phillip gave us Fall 2010. This is definitely memorable and what I think the chic city look should be when one thinks of NYFW.

Karen Walker - The Chloe influence is strong in this collection this season. Loved the brown minimal belt as an addition to some of the outfits. The mixed patterning and shapes are truly sublime. It felt a tad bit boring but I loved the styling, it was a solid show. I miss the KW from the Bob Dylan influenced show from 2010.

The Row - I loved the inclusion of long frocks with embellished detailing in neutral skin tones with some exposed chest, I attribute this to the Rihanna's 2014 CFDA dress. But I digress, loved the maturity this line shows in the casting of not only the models but the minimalist silhouettes of knits and long jackets that showcased, everything in many tones, navy, beiges, grays, robust red.

P.S. - Bergdorfs and Barneys shall see me soon enough.
