#NYFW Day 2: Concept Korea- Urbanity in Chic Blocking

Always love how Concept Korea presents two up to three designers in one setting. Its like we can get a glimpse into different inspirations and perspectives all at the same time. One designer's strengths and another's highlight.

This show this time around presented Yohanix and Jarret, two brands that I never seen before but was excited to see how they contrast and what Kbrand innovation is out there. From this presentation is how I learned to love Son Jung Wan and Lie Sang Bong, before they branched off into their own respective shows.

Yohanix: Presented a collection that touched upon bookworm going out meets urban chicness. The tartan plaids, the stragetically cool place zipper detailing, the uber chic downtown styling and not to mention, the bias cut tro layered skirt that is reminiscent of Yohji Yamamoto whom I love. The texture play of leather with wool work with a color palette that grants militia green and black to be the modern uniform of choice, I want it all. Loved the beauty look presented as well, luscious mis glossed blown out locks with a gorgeous red statement lip. Simplicity in beauty and styling.

Jarret: Jarret showcased a combination of talented cuts and wispy lengths. Loved the combination of the Asian obi style waist belt. The pastel blue detailing lost in the sea of blacks and navy blues. The cyber chicness of downtown cool separates mixed together in a appreciated way. The textural elements of velour, suede, satin all used in an aesthetically together glue that works.

Overall one of my favorite shows from day 2, it did not succumb to the 70s, neither to grunge but stuck to the chicness that french, london, and new York Fashion week always has.
