Prep it Up

Got inspired while watching a mixture of The Outsiders and the Devil Wears Prada when I put this outfit together. It has that downtown rocker chic meets prim and quirky classic style.

Love the combination of that jeweled collar linen sweater with navy blue crop khakis with brown brogues that is a classic preppy prim put together look. Then with a downtown flair, a nice leather moto jacket, and leather quilted studded bottom bag with a gorgeous zipper detail.

Got to wear this baby to dinner before I left for a warm vacay.

Outfit:
- J.Crew Jeweled Collar Sweater
- Gap Cropped Navy Blue Pants
- Brown Brogues
- Andrew Marc Leather Jacket
- Alexander Wang Angela Pouchette Bag

Ultimate Fashion Week Outfit

Ultimate Fashion Week Outfit

With New York Fashion Week being next month, I am so excited to see what is new for fall and catching up with a couple of folks. With the changes in terms of venue, I think everything is pretty much on site and offsite as per usual but I guess Lincoln will have its final lurkers around the fountain until Made at the standard starts to fill up with photogs camping outdoors. Even with a weird future of exactly what venues across NYC the S/S '16 collections will, we have got to focus on right now.

And right now for me is packing for a mini vacation, getting in ample study time for an exam, and of course awaiting the madness of what is usually NYFW to come back into orbit.

So I put together this little set because some how I thought that this would be a dream fashion week outfit to wear that is not only sophisticated but its weather appropriate and cozy for the vortex here.

This would be my grownup outfit when I am not wearing cropped pants, ripped jeans, or jeans in general. I love the Parisian meets NYC downtown flavor. And I of course had to include two of my favorite NYC brands, Honor and Rebecca Minkoff. I have to admit that I did in fact stick to complementary colors and a bit of matching but kept it mostly black. Black is the most sophisticated color for any occasion.

Outfit
Coat: Isabel Marant
Shirt: Honor by Giovanna Randall
Pants: The Row
Boots: Balenciaga

Accessories
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mac Tote
Earrings: Betsey Johnson
Watch: Gucci Twirl

Its Official: The New Gucci Creative Director

Well, the news has been circulating the past few days and rumors even longer than that but it is official. Alessandro Michele is in as Gucci's new Creative Director. He, of course, takes over the reigns from Frida Giannini.

I have to say its pretty nice for Gucci to have promoted someone within house to head the designs and vision for the Kering company. To be honest, I think its quite interesting for them to choose another Gucci Head of Accessories Design person to head the company, as another head of accessories was Ms. Giannini herself.

The only thing one can say is to watch and see what he does for FW 2015 and SS 2016. Everyone is speculating he could be a figurehead for a bigger Creative Director for Gucci but who knows at this point. I still think its nice they decided to stay in house. I hope Gucci gets the rejuvenation it deserves somehow.

Healthy Essentials

For those ready to take on the fashion weeks or just getting back into the work of everyday life from all of these holidays, it is important to fully nourish your body. Not to mention, get in the essential vitamins and minerals.

For me, I frequent Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, and other health and alternative shops. Essentially during a sick time, its great to get in lots of fluids, rest, echinaea, Vitamin C and such.

Here are my essentials:

- 3 Yogi Teas: One for Skin Detox, Regular Detox, and Perfect Energy. All great to have.
- 2 Emergen-C: 1,000 mg Vitamin C and Immune +.

Two of the best brands to keep healthy with. The teas are flavorful and healthy enough that sometimes you dont even need to add any sugar. And the Emergen-C you just add to your bottle or glass of water and the taste is incredible. Its like drinking a juice-y seltzer like drink.

Spice Up Your Life: The Container Store New Service!

Just got the email and its official, for those of us who have all of these extravagant organizational ideas and love the materials and resources from the Container store, there is now an at home design and installation option to make things a bit easier.

For about $50, and $75 an hour, in some places, you can design things.

Then in details, they describe the steps of the process:

"A few days following your consultation, your Contained Home Organizer will present your personalized organization solution.
Once you agree on an organization plan and your solutions are purchased, we will schedule delivery and installation.
Your Contained Home Organizer can then sort and stage your belongings from your spaces.
A skilled Contained Home Installer will ensure your solutions are installed beautifully and even paint your spaces a fun, fresh color if desired.
Lastly, your Contained Home Organizer will style and organize your belongings into your beautiful new solutions."

Heres the link if you want to see if its available at your local Container store.
I myself being so into decor and have over 400 and something interior design and creative ikea hack pins, I think this is another great idea to consider if you have the money and help get your ideas from your head into a tangible project.

Textured Heaven

You just gotta love dressing for the cold winter, so many sweaters, cardigans, boots, and cold weather accessories to wear in any which way.

This is one of my favorite outfits I have worn the past 2 weeks. I hope the 90s inspiration meets modern abstraction and pop art is evident. I love the large lapel shoulder, the peppered knit sweater, the comic book tee, the moto short boots and distressed light denim. I think it captures this easy attitude about throwing on whatever but they would still look complementary.

Once again, there is just something I love about wraping up in a sweater and jeans with boots that feels kinda cozy, easy and yet bad-ass.

T-shirt: Marvel
Jeans: Free People

This Week: Favorite Perfumes

Out of my immense perfume collection, I try to find time to wear as much of them as I can. Though, sometimes it is hard to because you get hung up on a scent after a while and wearing perfume is like an accessory; you simply throw it on like you would a necklace or scarf.

This week and last week especially, I have been wearing out these favorites!
  • CK One Shock
  • Meow by Katy Perry
  • Cartier Baiser Vole'
  • Acqua di Parma Blu Mediteraneo
  • Bvlgari Mon Jasmine Noir
  • Tory Burch by Tory Burch
  • Midnight Fleur by Nest Fragrances

Loving how each represents a different note which equates to a different persona to wear each day. Some days spice, some days sweet, and other times timelessly bold.

Best Looks of the Globes, Golden Globes 2015 that is!

So while the celebrities are on a day break to nurse their hangovers with green tea, green juices, and facials, from the moet at the Globes and the afterparty wine and dine, I will present the best dressed or interestingly dressed of the Golden Globes 2015!

There were a couple of questionable looks, some interesting styling, and ones that were over the top. Some dropdead and some safe but appropriate.

Here are my favorite out there but glamorous pieces. Love Claire Danes wearing something so visually layered and tribally textured. The Wide V cut, the peasant length, and high fashion design is just so right.
Next is Lupita Nyong'o in Giambattista Valli, I love how she explores color and its nicely complementary against her skin tone. The floral bodice and run of the color in a drip like effect cascading down the dress.
And then Ellie Kemper in Naeem Khan, she said herself it was a heavy dress but I love the details, the design and sheer material shoulder. Her hair style was perfect with it, a slight two strand updo. Not magical but was great to see float down the red carpet.

Next is the movie star stunners. Laura Prepon in Christian Siriano was a must. It fit her body perfectly, the modest neckline, the fabric heavy slight train, and she made all black seem like fun.
Then came Julianne Moore in custom Givenchy couture, the silver lame with feathery train screams old glamour.
Lastly, Viola Davis in Donna Karan Atelier, the bodice with the embroidery on the sides is incredible nips in the waist, then the dramatic lipstick red color against her skin tone is just perfect, and lastly the train, movie star glamorous indeed.

Next is the safe but pretty looks.

First, Felicity Jones in Dior, Not sure if the dress is too big for her but I loved the element and look of it. She was very beautiful last night, not a stunner but dainty.
Then our youngest, Quvenzhane Wallis in custom Armani! So age appropriate, love the jeweled top and pink skirt with the bow, its just right for her. Plus the hair is just right, a bit curled and coiffed to the side.
Lastly, our Dame Helen Mirren, showing sexy at any age is still achievable. She knows how to dress for her shape, the hourglass outline that dress gives her is fantastic, the neckline detail is stunning!

These are my stunners and best of the best from last night!
Jessica Chastain in Atelier Versace, the ruching knot in the middle, her hair cascading down the her right side with a modest v-line and cleavage all together is stunning! The deep understated bronze color suits her. Very very glamorous!
Then we have Emma Stone in Lanvin, what a gorgeous way to wear a pantsuit. Alber Elbaz did great on this one. The busy lattice bodice and then satin banded black pant bottom half with a gorgeous satin bow train in the back, classic!
Then we have dropdead by Kate Hudson in Versace. The white barely there dress succeeded in sexy but modest in some areas by the cut outs with metal chains, the streamline silhouette of her body, the plunging neckline with some boobage, I mean wow. Her body looks like Kate Hudson of 2003, remember those days?

Lastly, the old hollywood glamour group.
Reese Witherspoon served in Calvin Klein, the shape, her hair, and the minimalist sparkle look worked for her.
Next is Amy Adams in Versace, one wouldnt think it would be Versace but look at it, the grecian style ruching in the midsection, the one shoulder look, and her hair down matched it to a T.
Lastly, we have Dakota Johnson in Chanel, she seemed a bit stiff but the dress is beautiful! I think it would have been a knockout on someone else though, sorry Dakota.

Overall, silver, trains, ruching, and embroidery was somewhat a trend at the Globes. What else was notable?

Besides the Ethan Hawke actions throughout the night! LOL

Cozy Easy

Been busy and not busy lately, studying for an exam, since the last exam bombed (That is usually not my style, so as you can believe I was so down about it, my inner perfectionist had a heart attack). Now I am trying to be fully prepared for all circumstances and practice practice practice as much as I can. Sometimes you cannot control everything (Like a Blair Waldorf) and try to pave out your path but allow for mistakes and learning curves.

Anyways, I was always a fan of Allsaints Spitalfields clothing like their leather moto jackets, leather biker boots, and crispy clean neutrals but never got the chance to buy any, until NOW! I went to Bloomingdales and decided to finally look through and found the most absolutely abstract and effortlessly cool piece that one could have. This sweater:

It has a nice asymmetrical cut in the front, it does not close completely but more so drapes across the body. Not to mention the presentation, the shopping bag was cute and the declaration of independence script looking wrapping paper was so cool.

Overall, I am so impressed with Allsaints more and more now. My next goal is to buy another sweater and finally get one of their leather moto jackets. The quality is unparalleled.

Jewelry Love

Happy 2015! And lets make this the best one yet folks, Day 3 of 365, What are you up to!

For myself, I spent some time today, organizing my jewelry and realized that I wear these 4 pieces so much nearly everyday that I gotta switch it up and rotate.

The first necklace is a gorgeous diamond key with mother of pearl center. Its so elegant and dainty. I love how it can spice up your outfit to make you feel like a princess.

The second necklace is another gift from my mother, a nice Lauren Taylor Gemstone and Swarovski Butterfuly pendant necklace. I love the shape, the colors, the beauty, and overall look of it. Its a statement piece that beautifully matches anything you wear.

I love the 3rd necklace, bought it as a gift for myself from New York Comic Con months ago, it has a swarovski element crystal in the hardware and the moon phase that was outside the year, date, and month I was born, imagine that.

Then the gold and crystal etched bracelet that has a drapey and loose fit element to it, which is amazing. Its subdued glam.

Yeah, I really should rotate.

Happy Bidding~
