Buckle that Neck! - Skingraft Style

From the lets "Lets Make America GOTH" again to the layered uber cool runway shows at New York Fashion Week, SKINGRAFT has always been on my list of obtainables. I find the aesthetic in the same category to Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, and Allsaints but it goes a bit further in using rich fabrics, every day items like a gun holster being an accessory holster belt bag for the guys and long duster sweaters or texican ponchos that you would wear with a wide brim hat and a black bomber for the ultimate LA-NY look for the bettys.

Finally getting my piece of the SKINGRAFT pie, I have come along way of admiring the movement, the material and fits of the clothing way back when SKINGRAFT made their debut S/S '14 at New York Fashion Week.

My awesome long duster buckle knit sweater came so fast in the mail, within 4 days wrapped to perfection in a nice black dust bag and a black poly mailer. SICK.

The material does pick up a little lint because its that virgin angora wool which is high quality stuff but its absolutely warm!

Took her out for a spin for the first time today, only 56 degrees outside and buckled up my funnel neck and had my ah-ha! moment.

P.S. - A New York store, I am so waiting for!

Delectable: Burberry Checked Poncho

I rememer how popular these got from the Burberry FW 2015 collection, where Cara Delevigne and Joan Smalls led the charge in their very own customized initial ponchos, in a chic way over the classic trench look and Prorsum floral dresses. A memorable collection indeed from Mr. Christopher.

Got this one on sale nearly a year and a half later but its still a goodie. The material is incredible, did not get the monogram obviously but I wanted one nonetheless.

Now Burberry has a whole collection of variations that have stayed popular the last 2-3 seasons with new patterning fits and color schemes.

New at Bandier: Power Up That Workout

Always love sifting through Bandier's website and other fitness wear websites like Lululemon, Walmart, Nike, Reebok, and Adidas to see whats the hottest in gear like comfort, wearability, types of material, fits, new patterning, and the cutout fun happening with leggings.

And with it being the day after Christmas, all of that leftover, Santa cookies, muffins, and food has packed on some calories! Lets burn it off with some cute clothing.

These babies caught my eye and have seen them in person, they are good quality and they are def on my fitness workout wishlist.

(From left to right: Michi Moto Sweatpant $165/ Splits59 Division Performance Capris $98/ Terez Muscle Tank $39.50 on sale/ Spiritual Gangster Chase The Sun Muscle Tank $35.50 on sale.

Each having something cheeky about it, like how Spiritual Gangster Tops always are, Michi has great material pants and workout gear well worth the money, and Splits59 is an international favorite by many, and the Terez pieces are wallet friendly and gets the job done.

Bad Ass: Leather Life

Long gone are the days where I admire others in their leather jackets and moto style jackets wishing I could wear one and have one. Now I have three different ones by Walter Baker, who makes THE best jackets.

First gorgeous number is this Goat leather smooth material crossover one.

Next is the classic moto look with an asymmetric zip in a dark green color.

Last, is this gorgeous oversized lapel leather number with a bonus! It can zip off into a vest. Very warm and so chic with my Etoile Isabel Marant Vince Top!

Growing Family: Lanvin Sneaker Deakers

Everyone has a family of something, for me, its definitely my love of Lanvin sneakers. I just love the idea of fashion sneakers with some chicness and pizazz.

5 pairs and counting. Whenever I see a new material, mixed media style or low, or high top shape, I want it, haha!

I have not looked into the slip-ons, I am more so the lace up kinda girl.

On Trend: Military Colored Fur Anorak Jacket

Pleasantly surprised when I ordered a lesser brand version of the ever popular Mr and Mrs Italy Jackets with the inner fur lining.

I was skeptical of the thin anorak material and how it would work with the fur but alas it is quite warm, especially around the neck area.

Its so gorgeous and warm, fly look coming back from spinning class.

Christmas Wishing: Smythson Leather Notebook

For that gal or guy on your list (and myself included), when you want something fancy. Forget a regular mead notebook for the OfficeMax/Staples 25 cent deals, this baby by Smythson is genuine leather! You can even get croc effect ones.
I have always wanted a Smythson agenda and notebook. Not to mention you can easily get it customized by having your first, middle, and last name initials adorn it.

Love this Soho Notebook from their Panama Collection

I just love how you can get lined or unlined blank pages. Great for writing down ideas, thoughts, plans, etc x

Skingraft Slayith Thy Soul

I just love the way Skingraft makes these raw cutting edge pieces that are so cool, gorgeous black shapes with textural play, make for excellent layering, and creates an all new way to meld clothing to your body.

The prices are very moderate, not too expensive. And the way basics are done and how lovely the material used is, makes me want to come back to this brand more and more.

So sick, I ordered that last one with the neck buckle. How long it is and its such a good versatile layering piece. That one is the Long Knit Cardigan, here.

The 1st one is the Crossover Zip Cardigan in Black, with the sickest funnelneck!

2nd one is the Terry Lace Up Dress is Grey, I wouldnt wear as a dress but a great long over sweater with some jeans! Or maybe as a dress with some sick tights and a good biker boots.

3rd is the Hooded Sweater Cardigan. I love how cozy it is and laid back chic.

Warm up with these Cold Weather Accessories

So as we dip into fall then back into late summer and back into fall and now winter, the changing conditions are leaving us scattered on how to dress!

I love these staples: A good scarf; A good pair of gloves or armwarmers; and also a Good Jacket.

Without these, you can easily catch a cold from being cold.

But these are amazing for the upcoming winter season, they are not only so cute but are functional as well.

Clockwise:
Acne Studios Velocite Shearling Jacket

The Elder Statesman Melange Cashmere Arm Warmers

Eugenia Kim Rain Fur Trimmed Wool Beanie

Rag and Bone Checked Mallori Merino Wool Beanie

Balenciaga Checked Knitted Beanie

Not only can you be warm but you can look cute or bad ass that way. Great way to add a bit of pizzazz to an otherwise neutral outfit.

Daily Crush: J. Crewing for the Fall

Anything J.Crew I am there, as one of their fine wear fashionados, I always love when they create a brand new unique piece!

Love this hand crafted shift wool coat. The jeweling is reminiscent of Odessa, sort of a Russian style, with the glamour and warmness that is represents!

JCREW $1695. Hand crafted jewel and bead pieces on the bottom.

Any J.Crew Collection piece is gold.

HiLo: The Quintessential Shopping Look

You guys know when you have those moments were you want to stuff yourself comfortably in a pajamas but cant wear that snuggie outside but don't want to dress like Audrey Hepburn like as if you are going to work...?

Its hard but quite easy to achieve that balance of casual yet put together. Whether you keep the outfit simple and add in sprucing accessories or keep the outfit prim but scale down the add-ons.

Here are some of my favorite ways to do both of those:

Simplicity in Details: I love a good anorak but this one by Topshop has a cute camo sequin detailing on the shoulders, chest, and back. With that boyfriend loose fit paired with denim joggers, a cute shirt, and an easy pair of sneakers, its still comfy yet stylish. Easy going without being a try hard.

Jacket: Topshop Camo Sequin Shirt Jacket
T-Shirt: Uniqlo Pixar Graphic Tee
Pants: GAP 1969 Denim Joggers
Shoes: Vince 'Blair 5' Leather Sneakers

Extraordinary Detailing:
T-Shirt: J. Crew Tissue T-shirt
Shoes: Isabel Marant Bart Sneakers
Jacket: BLANKNYC Suede Moto Jacket
Jeans: Citizens of Humanity Emerson BF Jeans

Of course some cute accessories that can jazz it up or down would be these bad gyals.

(In Order)

J. Crew Mini Rider

Burberry Makes The Cutest Accessory of All Time!

We all can see that accessories are really making the outfits happen and have people shook! Well, the ongoing trend is bag charms and this one I definitely have been doing for a really long time before it became the "IN" thing to do. (I am telling you, next to my love of Military Jackets and Bag Charms, just what is next that I have already done, but I digress....)

We see the popularity with Fendi Bag "Bugs", Prada Bears, MCM monogram teddies, Furry Raccoon Fur Charms, and Louis Vuitton Handle Charms, but now Burberry once again, has stepped up their game!

Their Thomas Bear Collection has featurettes in many different colors and variations. They have the Punk Thomas Bear, English Guard Thomas Bear, Backpack Thomas Bear, Sweater Thomas Bear, Studded Thomas Bear, and Trench Coat Thomas Bear.

I do have my Sock Monkey I clip on and walk with everyday but stepping up my game, this baby spoke to me.

Featuring: The Thomas Bear in Checked Cashmere in Parade Red Color!
They play so nicely together!

I am so getting more!

New Bag Alert: Sugar, Sugar..Oh PS1 Mini, Mini

I bet it's pretty inherent that my obsession and love for all things Proenza is pretty evident! Aside from my PS1 Mediums and Large, I find myself drifting to other sizes and shapes. Like I am loving the tiny and minis now!
Low and behold, the latest ware to my threads, the PS1 Mini in either Veruca or Eggplant, I gotta reference my Proenza Seasonal Color Wheel via my ladies at the PurseForum.
But I really enjoy the smaller size, great for running, errands, shopping, going out, and an overall gorgeous colorful leather piece that's an easy crossbody. You would think mini means small, we'll here it holds alot more one can think.

Craftsmanship: Artisanal Pieces with Miansai

I am so used to the cute pyramid closure bracelet cuffs from Vita Fede, the Cartier Love Screw Bracelets, Cartier Juste Un Clous, and Hermes hooks and such. But lately, there has been a rise in such fine and stunning craftmanship in terms of new types of jewelry and new ways to wear old things, that I fell in love with Miansai pieces!

They have everything, men and women, earrings, necklaces, cuffs, etc! I just love new artisanal pieces that would be great.

They have gold and silver. Gold plating but some that are 10 kt real gold. The four above are my favs.

(In Clockwise Order)

The Modern Screw Cuff Bracelet, in Gold, here at Miansai.com. I bought one for myself, which Ill showcase at another time or next post.

Hook on Indigo Rope Bracelet, in Gold, here at Miansai.com. I love the idea of wearing an anchor rope and hoo on your wrist. Can tie down yourself.

Half Scuff Screw Necklace, in Gold, here at Miansai.com. I love the idea of the original bracelet cuff into a necklace. Its like the new bar or turned down pendant. (But FUNNER - Elle Woods reference)

Screw Bar Chain Earrings, Gold Vermeil, here at Miansai.com. Cool earrings indeed, a nice shift from my fun character danglers from Betsey Johnson to these modern simplicity ones.

Cheeky and Oversized: By Danielle Guizio

Discovered Danielle Guizio's uber cool stuff through a friend of mine and I gotta say, I like how simple it is yet it is just #mood goals.

Like I love this Sortez Oversized Sweatshirt. Buying one next week. Its like Vetements & Brian Lichtenberg humor but even better. The phrase is something I would definitely say, better yet let me wear it on my clothing so I can avoid speaking to people that are annoying me (LOL me).

Fall into Autumn: The Beauty Favs

Although some of these glam picks maybe in your arsenal already, I want to reiterate again how necessary these babies are into any girl's situation in her cabinet and carry case.

#1 - Kiehl's Rare Earth Pore Minimizing Lotion, here for $29 at Kiehls.com.
The texture of it goes on smoothly, the white clay especially helps to minimize pores and its good on combination skin. Beeh Tip: Get the Leave on Clay Mask to match, so so good! Tightening effect is amazing and leaves skin clean along with this bad gyal.

#2 - Glossier Face Highlighter Haloscope in Topaz, here for $22 at Glossier.com. Comes in two shades, Topaz and Quartz.
Features a smooth assimilation of textures with a solid neutral colored core that is vitamin rich in moisturizers for the skin and the colors on the sides have a glistening effect, hence Highlighter. But I gotta say, I dont wear makeup, like foundations, concealers, none of that. But I do love my eyeshadows and mascara sometimes, but I gotta say, some days I just wash my face, put on my essence, ceramide, moisturizers, and dab this at my cheek bones, and I look carefree for the rest of the day. Subtle glow and class just like that.

#3 - Glamglow SuperCleanse Daily Clearing Moisturizer, here for $14 at Sephora.com. Also comes in the larger 5oz size for $39.
I love the technology behind this bad gyal, you notice the change from mud into a foamy texture, it definitely leaves your face squeaky clean at night ready for bed. Good for sensitive and normal skin types.

#4 - NARS Monoi Body Glow II, here for $59 at Sephora.com.
This one in the right dry spots and on your arms, give you a subtle summer glow. From Coconut Monoi Oil, the sweet smell and way it goes on. Not greasy at all. Beeh Tip: It smells like summer too, add this on top of your perfume and bam!

Discover: Mr & Mrs Italy Fur Lined Coats

I ran across a picture of Cara Delevingne wearing this uber cool parka with fur lining and I am saying to myself, omg that is so cool! From there I discovered the Mr and Mrs Italy brand. Then again, I saw another photo of Chiara Ferragni in one in such a cute hot pink hood color. So I went onto the site and naturally my loving of militia stylee parkas made me curious.

I love how there is various jacket shapes and a plethora of sizing from XS to XXL, I love the representation in sizing.
They are a bit expensive, but I would love to own one! Just one of these days, would be my favorite new coat.

When you reach the site and pick a specific style, you can customize your coat to exactly how you want it to look by fur colors and shape.

That Vogue Article - Bloggers v. Mag Editors

I never thought we would see some Vogue contributors like the Fashion News Editor Alessandra Codinha and Sarah Mower, during a Vogue Spring 2017 fashion rundown, blatantly discuss bloggers. This has been a long running topic for quite some time and now that conversation has gone into overdrive.

Here is a link to it: Vogue's Milan Editors Spring 2017 Chat

I mean I understand the pandemonium of shows being bombarded and people doing many things for attention, which yes it is moot point that makes the shows more highly trafficked and photo ops looking ridiculous. But I thought the idea is dress to impress, with what you want to wear based on your confidence and gorgeous gams, and see the shows. See and Be Seen. I have seen this with both editors and bloggers, both getting things to wear or sometimes wearing the same Eye popping, eye catching things that street style photographers tend to notice. And sometimes these street style photographers are hired by said magazines to collect the most fashion-worthy outfits.

Hence the NY Mag, W, Vogue, Racked and NYT Fashion sections about who wore what at these shows. To go as far as saying editors are synonymous with the bloggers, not all, I cannot generalize, but there are certain facets of the job that do intersect. Both get paid for reviews (sometimes), paid to attend events, shows, get allowances for clothing, and freebies.

I cannot contend that bloggers are not of value anymore, some again, moot don't really add anything as they are walking billboards that I do so agree but not all of them fall under that generalization. But you have bloggers, like myself, that genuinely discuss pop culture, fashion in said pop culture, try to emulate our interpretation of it (like case laws from established statutes), and we can reach a younger demographic sometimes besides the traditional 25+ buying the magazine since the 1980s.

It is the fact that the business model of magazine publication and new media has evolved to the point that both can tend to have the same effect. We see newspapers and magazines, now have online content and bloggers also have online as well. Hell, we have even seen bloggers who are amazing writers get hired for site editing at publications and solely online publications (ala Refinery, Fashionista, and Racked) kudos to them. But to eliminate or bash either side of the media, I think they can co-exist and should.

Co-existence like our state courts vs the Supreme Court. There is a balance of powers adjudicated to each.  These are my thoughts, I both concur and dissent on certain points.

P.S.- Lets not forget when Vogue was loving the old school bloggers on the scene since 2007 and gave love with a huge article that gave away to the greats like Bryanboy, Tommy Ton and Hanneli Mustaparta, on their March 2010 Power Issue: Style Bloggers!

Fall Supplement: A Perfume Love Story

The latest loves in my fall love story perfume collection:

- Hermes Jour d'Hermes
- Crabtree and Evelyn Wisteria
- L'Artisan Parfumeur La Chasse Aux Papillons
- Donna Karan Cashmere Mist
- Issey Miyake Eau D'Issey City Blossom
- L'Occitane Vittoria Regia
- Hermes Eau Clare des Merveilles
- Tom Ford Black Orchid

The Jour D'Hermes by Hermes is a great fall scent not only for welcoming a new season but the femininity of the florals versus such a lux scent smells great against a backdrop of a crisp wool coat with your leather crossbody.

Gorgeous smell of lilies, wisteria, violets doused on yourself on a nice silk blouse. Just picture it, if you cant, then Crabtree & Evelyn's vintage 2003 scent called Wisteria is for you.

L'Artisan Parfumeur's La Chasse Aux Papillons, one of my favorite scents by L'Artisan, going to their mini store at Henri Bendel's every Saturday to catch up with my fav sales associate and try new scents and get a cute candle, this one always caught my eye. Imagine summer ending and you are at the Brooklyn Promenade laying out on the bench with a book and you can smell citrus florals that are not overpowering but sheer.

Think of Cedarwood, patchouli, musk that is a sensual sheer spritz each time you press that tab down. That is Donna Karan's Cashmere Mist.

Issey Miyake Eau D' Issey City Blossom, think of a delicate floral musk that is light with a tad of a woodsy scent. This one is a limited edition scent!

Named after the aquatic night flower in the Amazon, this scent is a delicate cultivated floral scent that has been strongly developed after it has been said to be at its most voluptuous scent after two days.

This one is hard to find but they have made similar ones with Amber and etc.  This one is a very warm, enveloping scent, its crisp and soft like how fall is. Its delicate and beautifully floral at the same time, not sweet but kept.

Fashion Find: Fringe from Ralph Lauren SS'17

We experienced major western vibes with chic modernity, with Ralph Lauren this season. Already western and fringing has been previously done a multitude of times, there is something charming about seeing it on safari jackets with camel colors and cut out evening dresses.

What I adored was the chic Madison Ave back drop providing the modern theme with gorgeous leggy models showcasing western elements of camel, suedes, fringes alongside gems like sculptured and well styled outfits such as long silhouettes.

And the Fendi and Valentino bag strap applique and fun design continues! This ongoing bag strap trend is even seen this season on the runway by Rebecca Minkoff, who showed a similar themed show on Saturday!

For those of you who cant wait, there is a fringe jacket on sale at H&M, if you cant afford the see it, buy it now and wear now business module going on, this one is on trend, right on point! And for fall, its uber appropriate. Sizes are going fast! Here for $39.99

#NYFW - Son Jung Wan, Jewels and Pattern Gems

Color and patterns adorned Son Jung Wan, with red, houndstooth and beautiful lame'. The styling was absolutely stunning, I would wear it all now. And the hair, so 70s.

Loved the bias cut flowy dress with the asymmetrical shoulder. SJW always knows how to do this style and delivers on a different perfect variation every season <3 p="">

And the fact that the collection is so cohesive, an embroidery party wtih every perfectly styled piece and everything you want in every color scheme! UGH GORGEOUS! The lustrious metallics for spring, summer, genius! People usually shy to pastels but this could be interesting!

SJW, I need that green tweedy sunflower embroidered short jacket, thanks! I would wear it everyday even in summer.
