#MusicThursday: Des'ree x You Gotta Be

Throwback to the 90s with this momental hit by one of my favorite Brit singers, Des'ree. This was the anthem, all about self-confidence and perseverance.

I mean one listen, you could begin to understand so many things and have a re-newed spirit. A long time ago this used to be my waking alarm sound.

Radar: Elina Linardaki Gladiator Strappy Pom Pom Sandals

At first when I saw designers coming out with these cool summer shoes, I was like, "okay its a nice idea in theory," but then as I looked more into it, they are really quirky and cool.

I especially love the ones that Elina Linardaki makes. This one is called Penny Lane. I know I know, it may be blogger heavy at this point, but it still makes me enjoy looking at them and possibly getting one. I cant help but think of Santorini, Greece fun when I see them.

These are the I think I need a vacation shoes. And will turn into I need a vacation to wear these shoes to, shoes. :)

Also there is the Saltwater style she makes that is less strappy and a bit more structured and down to earth. I love it as well.

And the prices aren't terrible between $199-$299.

Evolution of Style: Favorites Dresses Of Now! Features Self Portrait, Chloe, Zimmermann.

From my last post, I can definitely tell that I am starting to incorporate new things into my style, its an evolution per se. You know when you feel like you get too predictable and wanna try some new stuff. Well I am sorta at that point. And the great thing is you can tailor the cool trends to your style.


Like the rise of "Self-Portrait" as a brand and how brands like Chloe and Zimmermann, just like them kinda paved that path of the bohemian chic, layered tulles, laces, and neutral colors with tinges of colors.

Just In: Etoile Isabel Marant 'Vince' Top

I sat long and hard thinking about a peasant blouse with some oaxac elements which is the boho chic parisian effortlessness that Isabel Marant presents, so I caved in and bought the 'Vince' Tunic Top from the Bergdorf sales this past month. Got it for 40% off, cannot argue with that.

This makes it my 2nd IM piece, first was the Collab with H&M Sweatshirt.

With a light wash pair of jeans with some distressing or rips and birkenstock sandals, black slides, or gladiator flats, these are absolutely #mood goals.

Radar: Urban Zen by Donna Karan

Ever since Donna left/stepped down from her namesake DKNY and Donna Karan Collection, I always felt that she had another purpose to achieve and left to seek a new perspective. DK has always been about zen, wellness, and is known for her renowned approach to health via pilates.

After seeing her launch the collection via small scale event and now its available at Bergdorfs, I can see why she stepped down in a way. I mean the sultry, powerful, casual, and business appropriate yet trendy ways she helped to define American fashion and dressed women at work for decades, I can see how a new perspective and renewed challenge is at times necessary.

Here is where Urban Zen comes in. Just looking at the neutral colored separates, the basic designs that evolve into such a cool and chic wearable silhouette, there is something about it that that is very zen. Its not too form fitting, its loose and holds such a high level of comfort. Not to mention, every piece looks like an extension of Donna, exactly what she wears and what she would wear!
