Beeh's Read: Candice Kumai's Clean Green Drinks

Ever since Ms. Kumai graced our television screens on Top Chef and a contributor on The Dr. Oz Show, I have loved every segment that came on and her ideas. She is like the wellness queen in terms of healthy nutritious tasty treats and juices for cleansing the soul.

The second book I am loving from her is the Clean Green Drinks, the first one was the Pretty Delicious books.

I love how she incorporates different recipes and ingredients for any type of mood you are feeling. That includes the differences between smoothies and juices. Also taking the time in the beginning to tell you the great fruits, veggies, greens, and superfood add-ons to buy. Which of those are to be bought organically without ingesting any pesticide residue and of course healthy living tips!

I loved it.

Style & Mood Crush: Dolores O'Riordan from The Cranberries

Long live the colorful raspy voice of Dolores O'Riordan (my fellow irishman) of the legendary and iconic 90s band 'The Cranberries', which lets face it will always don any playlist we have.

We always focused on the band and the music, but lets see the woman behind the music and her style.

The Linger Cut from 1994.

The medium cut hair with that layered crocheted top. Love.

Lets not forget the cover art albums. Mixed prints and colors separates screams vintage at this point.

One of the more edgier looks with a striped long sleeve, velvet mini, and thigh high boots. Velvet Revolution indeed.

And the pixie!

Yes hair is included in style and the mood she sets! Love her to this day still. Her and Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth, be still my beating heart.

On the Radar: Fashion's Foray Into Fitness (Welcome Cushnie et Ochs for Bandier)

Since my last report about the rise in athleisure and explaining about myself being dabbled in this lifestyle for a long time and seeing it come to fruition as trendy within the last 6 years, it seems fashion types and designers are taking an inspired step even further by doing capsule collections and/or introducing a new layer to their business models.

Low and Behold, just announced today via email by Bandier, Sexy Cut favs Cushnie et Ochs has done an exclusive collection for Bandier!

Here a look from Cushnie et Ochs x Bandier:
Featured here is the Aurora Bra ($148) and the Athena Leggings ($198).

Price points are definitely up there but for these businesses, it is definitely the standard price for what their regular customers pay and what fans of these brands would pay to get a piece of the pie.

I love the innovations of design and mobility in fitness clothing. My have we come along way from old gym sweats, wearing simple Nike, Adidas, Reebok and Lulus.

I believe this is the 5th activewear design in fitness: Norma Kamali was first, Ralph Lauren Active, then Mara Hoffman, then Tory Burch Sport, and now Cushnie et Ochs. I am sure there will be more to add to this list as time evolves.

Just In: #ProenzaSchouler Life, My New Lilac in Large!

So, I think my love for Proenza is evident as I saw this baby recently and could not help myself. This Large Lilac from a few seasons ago! Notice the older dustbag! :D Such a classic.

My sock babies definitely approve!

I just love how luscious and buttery soft the leather is. And the large size is a bit different than my medium, strap is a little bit longer and can hold alot more, hello law books and my macbook.

The older version dustbag!

YASSSSS.

Me when I saw her come in the mail:

Beeh Want: Dream Whimsical Bags

BAGS BAGS BAGS :D

I mean all of the designers, staying true within their aesthetic and others thinking out of the box and joining into this trend, I am loving all of it. Low to High End. These are some of the bags I am loving right now.

Row 1: The Anya Hindmarch Ebury, comes in a clutch and large tote bag! I just love the stickers feel. Its like a vintage rocker's guitar case that has so many stickers or a little's girl collectable sticker collection. About to do a DIY on this one!

The Gucci Riche Striped Shoulder Bag, I love the vintage style in terms of the hardware and shape. Plus the floral additions screams new Gucci via Alessandro Michele. :)

An unknown to many, Paula Cademartori Buckle Shoulder Strap Bag. Love the cute toucans in contrast with the tortoise buckle detail.

And a classic Ferragamo bag shape 'Sofia' but in the style of woven magneta and rose coloring! This satchel is so adorable.

Row 2: Les Petits Joueurs white shoulder bag, another unknown designer, under the radar. The cute beady eyes like that of a Mario pixelated video game, is gold. I can mix my love of video games and fashion with this one. Would have also worked for the Manus et Machina theme for the Met Gala 2016 this year. :)

Jansport Chino Floral Backpack, now this one is so adorable if you like a regular backpack that has a nice twist to such a classic kid's bag. The pattern makes carrying all of those books so stylish.

Kate Spade 'Admit One' Clutch, a nice cheeky clutch and great to turn heads when you go to see a play or a movie! Hehe!

Chicnova Vegan Leather Bag. This one in the shape of a mini Kelly bag, has the Spongebob Eyes, again carrying on from the tradition of this trend of cartoon and innovation in fashion. Adorable!

Row 3: Another Anya Hindmarch, this time the Rainbow Calfskin Leather Backpack. Great piece for showing LGBT love but at the time, you are a kid inside who loves colors and believes in rainbows at the end of the pot o' gold!

Chloe Hudson Tassel Mini Crossbody Shoulder Bag. I love the expression of colors in this ongoing tassel trend, Chloe knows their aesthetic and continues to deliver with that. The Ultimate Chloe girl piece. Freedom.

Cute little Otter Backpack. Inexpensive and nice for any everyday activity or if you are feeling cheeky about your building not allowing you to have a pet!

Lastly, The Valentino Jeweled Glam Lock Shoulder Bag. As seen by Blake Lively on Gossip Girl in this specific style, I have fallen in love with it. I love the gems and grandieur it represents, and the traditional leather flap jazzied up so that accessorizing these days has never been so good.

With bags like these, who could be boring?~

Beauty: Nature Republic Aqua Collagen Ceramide Hydrogel Mask

Its been a little bit since I reviewed something or talked about my AB routine and things I currently like. Well after work yesterday, I decided to finally take a breather and walk around before I take the train to get home. Made my way into Nature Republic which is always near work and walked out with wallet damage (which I will showcase the haul at a later date).

Low and behold, the one thing I will discuss first is this Aqua Ceramide Collagen Hydrogel Mask. Never tried hydrogel masks, I have only done sheet cotton, mud, and wash offs. But this one is so rich and is a little bit gooey to get on your skin correctly, but when it cooperates you feel great, like a spa facial.

Only thing is not much in terms of remaining essence as most of this one absorbed quick and not alot left in the bag, not sure if this is normal for hydrogels. Face did feel nice and look brighter after the mask but with a few more uses of new ones, lets see if it really makes my face look more moisturized.

Hey!

I like how its a 2 part mask. I followed it up with the Nature Republic argan oil, Nature Republic bee venom spot treatment, The Face Shop chia seed hydrating emulsion, and the Polynesia Lagoon Hydro Cream.

The Allegory of Celebrity & Advertisement in Fashion

Id like to open this up with the acknowledgment and pay my respects to SCOOP NYC, whom is closing all stores across the US, in due time. It feels like the end of an era with this one but this implosion in fashion has been a long time coming and also for old business models of 2000-2005, the older ways of doing business and technology have now become archaic.

I mean I remember those early years when socialites and young starlets are on the scene in the earliest gossip sites and fashion blogs, sporting the hottest bag, clothing, and accessories to wear; and not to mention, the exact same place to get it from: the Kitson boutiques, SCOOP NYC, etc.

These young and older ladies of the time, were and still are the walking billboard for the latest in wears. But now ever since the rise in social media around the 2005-2010 onwards period of time, advertisement has been taken to using the classic models or hot figures of the moment (like the Hadid Sisters, the Jenner girls, Jourdan Dunn, Karlie Kloss) and television personalities to showcase these looks not only on off-duty times but during special events and prints.

Lets not forget, some boutiques like Intermix and Singer 22 that showcases the latest in fashion trends are still going strong, they not only have a social media presence in terms of instagrams, twitters, a fanbase following, pictures of celebs wearing certain things, but also trends are definitely studied and there is a massive amount of availability in terms of separates and things in season. Sales at times being generous to get rid of dead stock or out of season clothing. The site layouts are clean but not too minimalist, they act like Net-A-Porter in this respect and like a magazine, giving off an aesthetic sense of the clothing and a wide availability of pieces, if you want to create whole looks or what not.

Now to finish my thought, when business stick to the same model without improvement, things like this and of course, the curveball, rising rents in certain areas, will cause closures if there is no profit margins and too much risk with little benefit.

But of course, there can be unforeseen factors that we are researchers, the public, and etc do not know about. In my experience with studying models and closures such as these, there is a little bit of a coincidental pattern.

Good Luck Scoop NYC, thanks for an era of obtainable trendy luxury and a place to pick up something quick!

Just In: Superga x Man Repeller Tweedy Sneakers

So I have been loving Superga for a couple of years now, the classic Cotu styles in minimalist simple colors but I started seeing various patterning and shapes coming out and not to mention collaborations.

Ones by the Man Repeller and The Row adorn my inspiration boards months ago. Low and behold, whilst looking on ebay, I found these babies brand new in box for $50, so I immediately picked them up.

I love how tweedy, sparkly and chic they are. Like the more luxurious designer sneakers with a easy flair (unlike those atrocious Chanel sneakers that are too harajuku sparkly). I love how the eyelets are golden colored and they are high tops.

I mean the outfit possibilities and  these will look cute next to my Lanvins and other Converses. Shoe game is on point with this.

Spirit Animal: Fran Drescher as Fran Fine from The Nanny

Of course, since I discussed fellow 90s rich symbol Christine Ebersole as Regina Rich, I have to discuss the style queen of the 90s overall, which is Fran Fine-Sheffield from The Nanny.

From the first episode to the last, MS. FINE (*In a Mr. Sheffield Yell*) never disappointed us. Some looks over the top, to sexy and sultry, to fun separates put together. Here are some of my favorites:

She was a Proenza girl before the boys started Proenza Schouler!

Me in my coat and sunglasses really.

The right way to do prints and basics.

Cant forget this look from the very first episode. Sometimes I feel like this in my Sunday bests, when I leave the house.

Moschino anyone.

Face it we never made dress suits look this good.

Moschino meets JC de Castelbajac.

And this perfection..

Come on, our 1990s style diva was Fine. Some of us were Fran, some of us are still Fran, some of us want to be Fran!

Fit Life: The Latest Healthy Kick

Everyone that has been reading knows how much I love health and wellness but I do have the occasional sweet tooth here and there, I allow for it. I am human.

But anyways, lately I have been really on my game in terms of not doing a set workout schedule but doing a variety of things, not only HIIT, High Impact, and Intervals which I love but a mixture of disciplines like yoga, barre, pilates, endurance, and strength. Its good to keep it interesting, not boring, and allowing the body to rest but not get muscle memory with doing the same thing over and over, expecting the same results to continue.

One cool thing is I finally caved in and got Gwenny's new book. I have to admit GOOP has some nice recipes in this that I gotta try to replicate and also create my own inspired by this.

And BAM I have:

Filling dinner, low in cal, nice and flavorful.
Brown rice, avocado, kimchi kale sautéed with mushrooms, beans, and tomatoes.

Doing some advanced Tracy work :)

Sometimes a little pre-workout is necessary and black seed oil does it all!

Lately I have been loving this locally made "milk" called notmilk, made in brooklyn. And it comes in a variety of flavors, filled with nuts.

And I got my pieces of the Tracy Anderson Nutrition for Target pie, her clear bars are not bad at all. 14g protein, 11g fiber, 200 cal, sunflower seeds in the consistency. Not sickly sweet at all, just right.

Got a sample of the Eboost Spruce energizing greens, with 6g fiber, plant based caffeine at 85 mg, sometimes who needs coffee?

And of course whenever I can, I stop at Liquiteria and get some little shot pick me ups when I really feel run down or need maintenance. Lemon, Cayenne, and Ginger in the HOT SHOT. And E3 Live which is blue green algae that does everything for your body :) Complete nutrition.

And whenever I am at target, I pick up 2 or 3 of these blueprints. Love the cashew milk and mango juices.

I do have to start my group fitness classes again, as thats a nice change of pace than working out at home sometimes. Like I want to try new spots but go back to whom I love like Nalini Method, Exhale, and Flywheel. But my at home fitness has been doing great, I do Tapout XT workouts, Youtube workouts, Ballet Beautiful, Hamelin D'Abell Method, Namaste Yoga, Insanity, Insanity Max 30, Zuzka's ZCUT, Exhale, Pop Physique and some Tracy Anderson.

And having a super cute outfit helps
I mean when you tune into this lifestyle, you really cannot stop!

Sunday Funday: Pamper Yourself

With today being the most relaxing or most stressful day of the week, depending on whom is asked, it is essential to gather the essentials or do things like that you like to do to relax. In my opinion, a great sunday is good music, good food, detoxifying, easy-going, and pampering yourself.

The idea of pampering yourself includes laying by the windowsill in a cozy blanket with a good book or magazine on the iPad, a nice body scrub to scrub away the worries of the oncoming week and polish up tired skin, a good facial mask to stay on for 20 minutes, shave (if you need to), and cleansing your closet and fridge of bad things (expired or things you don't wear or need).

But I will mostly focus on the beauty and detoxifying parts of self-pampering on a Sunday, or any day really.

1) start off with drinking water all throughout the day.

2) Then doing a really great workout, a HIIT to make you sweat and go hard or a nice barre for strength in stillness, or even yoga if you went hard the entire week and need personal time to relax and restore.

3) Make your home and carry-to-work meals for this week from now or until Tuesday, makes life easier.

4) Relax with a good book or have a mini Netflix binge.

5) Take no phone calls, put that phone on silent or away.

6) When you go to shower, use a sugar/body scrub and then moisturize. Shave if necessary.

Speaking of, these are my favorite scrubs:

The Bliss Body Buff in Vanilla and Bergamot. Its so nice smelling, so relaxing and the right amount of buff, its not coarse beads at all.

Then the Juicy Couture Couture Couture Body Scrub, is so nice smelling, its like getting the perfume to be soaked into your body forever. The scrub is a little bit coarse, but sometimes you need that good scrub.

Then my other favorites that Sephora actually sells. The Caudalie Divine Scrub, it gets rid of dirt and oil for sure, in that cedar and rose hinted smell.

And of course the moisturizing, Coco Rose by Herbivore Coconut Oil Body Polish. all natural plant based, rose and coconut hints and makes your skin so soft! Great for winter to spring transition!

Or of course, when I dont feel like using those, its always fun to try and create your own at home ones, I love this one by Wellness Mama here!

7) Get back into bed, finish Netflix binge until night. Or turn on your sound machine for beach sounds and rain noise, and close your eyes. The world is your oyster at this point.

8) Don't eat dinner too late, for healthy digestion and not feeling sluggish the next morning that is.

9) And of course, have a green juice for the day, nice way to get into herbs, vitamins, minerals and other phytonutrients, if you don't take a multi. Not a bad way to natural detoxify the body without those "cleanses".

I cant stress how good Vibrant Health's Green Vibrance is. Everyone everywhere is drinking it. I mean it also has digestive enzymes and probiotics as a bonus. Who can argue with that?

All of these tips is what I love doing, makes me feel better and more calm. I mean to find serenity and enjoyment in things we like to do and not doing anything is hard in this fast paced environment we sometimes are thrown into.

Just don't forget about yourself, pamper yourself. So you can start Monday like:

Throwback Inspiration: Christine Ebersole as Regina Rich from Richie Rich

Today's focus is on the 1994 Richie Rich film adaptation from the Harvey Comics popular series "Richie Rich!", I quite liked this film, such a cult classic for me as with other 70s, 80s, and 90s films that never got the recognition they truly deserved.

Christine Ebersole as Regina Rich, I mean from living an opulent lifestyle, she is my spirit animal in this film when I become rich. When her and Rich Sr become shipwrecked and on a raft, she changes her outfit before she gets saved! (lol)

Her mannerisms and opulent jewelry is a force to be reckoned with. Even in this still shot, she was watching a laser trying to kill them, laser off her mountain face's nose, and she was highly upset that it messed up her nose to "look like Michael Jackson!" (lol)

I mean to be held captive in this style, come on. Damsel in Tasteful Clothing and Jewels.

And of course, who remembers this iconic scene of Christine and Edward Herrmann singing "Side by Side" to open the vault.

God, memories.
