Shoe Crave: Mansur Gavriel Suede Dual Strap Slides

Whilst looking on Bergdorf Goodman's website for the latest items in terms of beauty goodies and 5F cuties, I saw these that are now available on Pre-Order, the Mansur Gavriel simplicity magic now for sandals!

These suede babies for $395, so cute and they made them in many colors and the leather variation.

I mean even though this style has been done before I love the tiny vamp heel and suede material variation. So lux.

I am craving these! Better check the wallet diet first.

#NYFW Review - Pedram Karimi & Rosenthal Tee - Execution in the Details

This unique duo designer show infused differences in terms of each designer's thought process and innovative approach to their styling and craft. This thus created a juxtaposition that was well appreciated. Packed with style influencers and the editor crowd, this show wowed the otherwise steady Sundays that New York Fashion Week is noted for.

Pedram Karimi Backstage by Carlos Escobar
First off was Pedram Karimi - This collection used neutral solid tones that play on the gender-bending ideas of unisexuality in dress. Styles that are notable in Dries van Noten, Rick Owens, and Gareth Pugh style. It featured the raw-ness and focus on shapes and the various cuts in the pieces as a whole. The whole thing just breaks down what fashion is on the silhouettes, textiles, and raw emotion without lifting a finger to add in any print. Everything is like a canvas cut into a certain mold and its up to us to figure how to best envision it. Love how clean this collection was and how much layering potential there is for fall and winter. A+. Showcases that neutral colors and minimalism is not confined to cookie-cutter luxurious silhouettes that only exemplify the textural play but there can be variances.

Here were some of my favorites:

Next was Rosenthal Tee - Who more so showcased a more feminine collection that had undertones of confidence, skillful mastery of cut work, and sultry glamour. From neoprenes to beaded tulle work, this cohesive collection masters the art of texture, embroidered detailing, and knowing what articles of clothing should be detailed and beaded or not. What really won it for me was the skills in the creation of the variations on the idea of a dress. We are talking about Marchesa level detailing but with a more soulful approach and dramaticism like Zac Posen. Within these different pieces, you can see the cultural pot from the silken road in China to a palace in Russia. The modern woman would enjoy any piece out of this, myself included. Need that fine crepe gown with the glitter lace embellished back!

These were my favorites:

All imagery was taken by Carlos Escobar but have been edited by myself.

Thats why I love contrast shows such as these, amazing to compare, contrast, and see the execution in the details and inspirations.

The Faux Detox: One of the Best Relaxing, Day After Tip List You Will Read

We all know that the day after, a lot of fun the night before, it can be hard to look well rested, feel refreshed and brand new. But I believe it is possible to achieve that morning after detox that we all seek, whether or not you have been drinking or need that rested look.

Usually the celebs are able to go to spas whenever they choose, have a personal trainer, aestheticist etc all on hand due to a disposable income but I have my own beauty and wellness hack for the day after.

My list of favorites are these:

1) Right upon waking up, when you wash your face, my favorite korean beauty/ AB beauty add on is the sheet mask. Applying this after your treatments, will help to seal in moisture and has nutrients that the face needs to stay supple and less bloated. The Before/After series by Holika Holika is one of the best.

2) For the facial wash to go with the masks, is the Bliss Triple Oxygenating Energizing Facial Mask Wash. If you can't bring yourself to the spa oxygen mask treatment facial, you can bring it your own DIY at home spa with the wash. Just two pumps and you are good to go.

3) For the obligatory juicers, a nice inner nutrient would be a lovely juice filled with cayenne, ginger, apple, and lemon. All are detoxifying for the body and helps with circulation, making one's skin refreshed and energy levels increased. Not to mention, your immunity system will get a nice boost too. You can either get the juice or buy a nutribullet for $99 and blend them yourself!

4) Next, a suggest a good workout, anything from Barre to High Intensity Interval Training, to some power yoga. And with that a nice massage but wait, no need to visit a masseuse and pay an exorbitant amount of dollars, buy a foam roller (high density with ridges) for $20-30. And roll out your muscles everywhere. I guarantee you feel brand new and relaxed.

5) Lastly but not least, If you dont like blending or etc, you can buy the super powerful Vibrant Health Green Vibrance. Has Probiotics, enzymes, energy support, skeletal support, mood support, and every green and herbs imaginable to support bodily functions. Because nothing says beauty is only skin deep if you cant support your internal organs and bodily functions.

After all of that and a good nights sleep, you will be like this:
(Which is also me, when I dont have to go to work!)

My friends over at Casper, can also help with relaxing and getting good sleep. They make pretty awesome mattresses, sheets, and pillows (Highly stand behind the pillows as they are cool side bae approved). That inspired me with seeing what I can come up with in terms of feeling rested the day after! They even after their own hangover cheat sheet.

Hope you guys enjoy!

#NYFW Day 5 Highlights - More Prints to Appliques

Day 5 gave us more prints but aesthetically competitive streaks amongst the different runway shows. These designers I felt brought it today.

Carolina Herrera - The ever old world bijeaux glamour that the Carolina Herrera brand entails, continues in a lucid stream of detailing in ladylike fluid dresses. The tri-layered long sleeve watercolored sky blue and navy dress with the embroidered collar is gorgeous. The cascading fur vest with the chic belted white silk long dress. The cuts, silhouettes and details in this collection is so feminine, it makes even me want to wear a dress like this to a function and be the center of natural beauty attention. Beautifully done.

3.1 Phillip Lim - What I have been waiting for. Stranded quilt bomber long jackets in an array of different patterning like english houndstooth on a rebellion. Loved the paperboy bag style pants in the matching top. The exposed zippers. The wool peacoats with an embroidered trace black line running across the waist. Downtown chic as per usual with a new flair. I love this collection as much as when Phillip gave us Fall 2010. This is definitely memorable and what I think the chic city look should be when one thinks of NYFW.

Karen Walker - The Chloe influence is strong in this collection this season. Loved the brown minimal belt as an addition to some of the outfits. The mixed patterning and shapes are truly sublime. It felt a tad bit boring but I loved the styling, it was a solid show. I miss the KW from the Bob Dylan influenced show from 2010.

The Row - I loved the inclusion of long frocks with embellished detailing in neutral skin tones with some exposed chest, I attribute this to the Rihanna's 2014 CFDA dress. But I digress, loved the maturity this line shows in the casting of not only the models but the minimalist silhouettes of knits and long jackets that showcased, everything in many tones, navy, beiges, grays, robust red.

P.S. - Bergdorfs and Barneys shall see me soon enough.

#NYFW Day 4 Highlights: Shipwrecked & Printage Sensibility

It seems that Day 4 is upon us! And there were some debuts as well as hits and misses. Let us explore the most interesting designer runway shows that happened on Day 4. Starting off with Sies Marjan.

Sies Marjan: Led by former head of creative designs for Dries Van Noten, Sander Lak. His debut collection for NYFW was sublime. This is a fresh show to be held during NYFW, it felt more like PFW with a little Milan but it works. Its well designed, well styled, and stood upon the precipice of bold separates that can make any outfit. I loved the tie knot bias cut floral dress, the navel tie knot as made famous by YSL under Tom Ford back in the 1990s, with that glorious pantsuit. I loved the color palette of neutral beige and regular colors under the influence of a mix of printage, florals, and watercolor like Kandinsky collages. I look forward to more of what he does. I mean this was the best debut like Michelle Helene's show since Rosie Assoulin, Public School, Protagonist, and Delpozo made their own NYFW debuts.

Tome: This chic NYC brand masters the art of wanting to be shipwrecked with bulky silhouettes that are uber chic, mixing patterning of stripes with solids. Now there seems to be more detailing like a pirate like corset lace up jacket in a black color, mixed with sheer bell sleeves circa 1800s, with a beautiful front obi tie (asian like) white dress with a lacey underlay shirt. I always love how great they style together the pieces to look haphzard with a purpose and it works!

Public School: The grunge is back and in a good way. Mixing in not only bold, underlying jewel tone hues with dark charcoal black and greys but the power lies in the detailing and styling. The sheer skirt with a cozy black sweater, chic. A duster pink jacket with boots and a red smokey long dress, chic. Clipped long skirt with a moto style woolen grey charcoal jacket, love. This is where I like Public School right now. Maybe if they evolve more at DKNY, I will like them there too. But Dao-Yi and Maxwell, know their brand and clientele.

Victoria Beckham: Gone are the days of her own aesthetic in pure neutrals. Ms. Beckham has evolved her own persona mixed in with a little Philo and Prada, to give us what she thinks her customer base likes based off of her own preferences. It truly works. The late 90s, plaids and spaghetti strap long slip dresses. I love it all.

Jonathan Simkhai: Simkhai's frills and fringe is all the rage on this runway. I loved the detailing and structures of the clothing made in this outfit. The lace white top and long bottoms. I love the idea of neutrals with details. It all looked amazing and the movement is enviable. Truly stepped up this season as this is one memorable collection.

Prabal Gurung: Ugh, this whole collection asides from the print detailing of floral orchids and jewel tone purples, screams classic Prabal. Loved the bare shoulder flowing dresses towards the end. But the real stunner was the fur glamours, the different derivatives of colors, shapes, and sizes. Can find any woman in these. It amazingly works.

Sally LaPointe: Super luxurious. I loved the various color palettes and textures that all meshed together in one cohesive collection. The placement of furs at the shoulders as a stole, chest, and arms. So chic, updating the old winter staple of a simple knit with fur and a sexy skirt if you must. The movement on them were enviable and the highlight was the stunning embroidered grey long jacket, can you imagine the various outfits a glamour girl downtown and uptown can put together? I need that in Bergdorfs stat.

Jenny Packham: Finally, we are back to the 70s in metallic shimmers. The flouncy and hip baring dresses remnant of another age and I like it. There are many studio 54 dresses to be found in this collection and a red carpet one for everyone. I do like the transition into circular floral appliques towards the end, its a nice change but felt a little haphardly done, a tad random but it works.

All in Day 4, presented some strong and some safe collections from solid brands.

#NYFW Day 2: Concept Korea- Urbanity in Chic Blocking

Always love how Concept Korea presents two up to three designers in one setting. Its like we can get a glimpse into different inspirations and perspectives all at the same time. One designer's strengths and another's highlight.

This show this time around presented Yohanix and Jarret, two brands that I never seen before but was excited to see how they contrast and what Kbrand innovation is out there. From this presentation is how I learned to love Son Jung Wan and Lie Sang Bong, before they branched off into their own respective shows.

Yohanix: Presented a collection that touched upon bookworm going out meets urban chicness. The tartan plaids, the stragetically cool place zipper detailing, the uber chic downtown styling and not to mention, the bias cut tro layered skirt that is reminiscent of Yohji Yamamoto whom I love. The texture play of leather with wool work with a color palette that grants militia green and black to be the modern uniform of choice, I want it all. Loved the beauty look presented as well, luscious mis glossed blown out locks with a gorgeous red statement lip. Simplicity in beauty and styling.

Jarret: Jarret showcased a combination of talented cuts and wispy lengths. Loved the combination of the Asian obi style waist belt. The pastel blue detailing lost in the sea of blacks and navy blues. The cyber chicness of downtown cool separates mixed together in a appreciated way. The textural elements of velour, suede, satin all used in an aesthetically together glue that works.

Overall one of my favorite shows from day 2, it did not succumb to the 70s, neither to grunge but stuck to the chicness that french, london, and new York Fashion week always has.

#NYFW Day 2 - Mathieu Mirano: Hypnotizing Sleek

Mathieu Mirano brought us on a journey where the desert meets glamour. All of these ethereal models are made so by the sandy floor, their glamourous attire, clean faces, and slick back beauty look.

The looks are very expertly cut that one by resemble another but there are variances in terms of silhouette, and shape. I love how there is a theme of a blank canvas, simplicity in the background but then the clothing speaks for itself. The sea of metallic textures, shiny and matted looks shine through.

I love the take on each of the dresses. The rainbow metallic, sheer long skirt situation, its screams boldness right down to the confines of the elongated neck line.

These creatures brought upon us from whatever glamourous colony they came from, clothes albeit a tad bit raw shred are very chic and fitting! I mean look at the hem on some of them.

These are some of my favorites, that showcases what I love as a whole:
 Photos by Kevin Sturman

I mean the ombre color palette, the textures, the overlay and flounced shapes, are the dresses that one dreams about. The little black dress is outdated. Crushed velvet, Matted, Metallic is what is the stunner.

#NYFW Day 3 - Christian Siriano: Volumes and Chic Drama

Always love to see what Christian Siriano will grace us with this time. For the fall winter season, he certainly did not disappoint. The slim scaley dresses, to the knit wear digital print on a few separates had me in awe.

Not to mention the silhouettes that are reminiscent of the old time Donna Karan New York, strong bold woman. That red lip is going a long way on these looks and I am here for it.

The crescendo of the outfits juxtapose a solid start of a new ideas and inspirations, prints, styling that is enviable at best, that then transitions into bold gowns with such drama and fervor that I see many starlets running here for a piece or two, whether it be to an overseas promotion of their film series, an award red carpet session or Hollywood premiere.

All in all, Mr. Siriano showcased a strong and bold collection that is not forgettable not in the least and its great to see the growth since PR. The Siriano girl is evident and embedded in this Fall collection and there are so many pieces to mix and match out of this offering!

P.S. - That Duster black coat look with the vertical stripe pinup pants is what I need for my "Dead Husband, I had nothing to do with his murder, Court look" ;)

#NYFW Day 2 Highlights: Cut and Sewn

Day two of even colder temperatures that have relegated me to stay indoors and not venture off anywhere. But the clothing speaks for themselves.

From Wu to Ochs, there is plenty to sort through.

At Cushnie et Ochs: While, I do admire their cut geometry and sexy silhouettes, once again, this collection was a little bit safe at best. But I do like the new takes besides the cuts, the revealed decolletage shoulder, which is like the new leg slit (I call it from now). And the red carpet worthy dresses for the young startlets of right now, its solid but a tad bit safe. These are my favorites though:

At Jason Wu: Once again, simplicity without doing too much is the theme. I did like the tinges of yellow and separates like the plaid geo pants and the fur wispy wool coat. I think his work at Hugo Boss is manifesting in his regular collection now for sure. A little boring but solid, very nice pieces in this collection.

At Yigal Azrouel: Bob Dylan anyone? I absolutely loved this collection. It was what Karen Walker started on in 2007 and what Coach under Stuart Veviers tried to continue but Yigal definitely finished it. The silhouettes, the necklines, the various print work, the cuts, the textures, and fun elements all meshed so well together. I wanted everything.

At Zimmermann: Playing on the cultural melting pot with loose silhouettes, the collection was laden with berber chic pants, sporty elements, 90s styling, and cute prints that makes one envy. From the beauty look of the sleekback hair and middle part, down to the strong cheekbones and dewy bare face, they hit the nail right on the head. The ethereal print mixing is enviable. I wanted everything from this collection. One of the strongest Day 2 shows, in my opinion.

Overall Day 2 had its highs and lows, and I am truly celebrating it all, everyone had good looks some bold, some sleek, some safe, and some necessary.

#NYFW Day 2 - #Chromat: Fifth Element in Swim

Chromat was a nice affair in terms of art meeting fashion. The show was a linkage of architectural plays on color swatches with 1990s elements and styling ideas.

I love how the swimwear is a work of art in itself and as separates can be worn with any other piece one sees fit. The flexibility is notable.

Here are some of my favorites:

Love the sheer satin slip with the inlay see-through marina. Quite sporty and yet sleek.
Overall one of my favorite shows from Day 2, they did not play it safe and played with what fashion is supposed to be. Not stuffy, not nonsensical but amazingly breathtaking and inspirational.

Looky look: SKINGRAFT A/W 2015

If you guess remember how lit that collection was, you remember the navajo, peruvian blanket, nomadic looks with the traditional mixed media leather, urban cool, and cool layering menswear element that just keeps me coming back over and over again!

Ugh those textures, stripes, the funnel neck, and layering potential!

From left to right:
1) Peruvian Poncho in Black/Bone, here.
2) Kimono Overcoat in Black, here.

Then the more low-key furturistic transformers looking shirt and menswear inspired long dress top, I just need tbh.

From left to right:
1) Drawstring Shirtdress in Black, here.
2) Prism T-Shirt in Black, here.

Ugh Skingraft, you always slay. You had me at hello with that Fall 2014 collection with the ripple leather army and animal ear leather hats with golden zipper trims, and the fall 2012 collection with the edgy mesh head piece fascinators.

#NYFW Covetable: A Throwback to Son Jung Wan FW15

A throwback to Son Jung Wan FW 16, since the FW16 show is tomorrow.

Thinking about all of this snow we are being forced to see and the slipping and sliding of ice slushies and skid worthy skater rinks on the sidewalks, I figured why not slide in something nice.

My personal favorite from SJW 2 seasons ago :)

The Wool and Cashmere Fur Collar Jacket!
That fox fur trim is no joke. I mean its so warm looking and not to mention funky in color. Thats the type of piece one should have.

The "I woke up, went to the supermarket, and now strolling with my millionaire husband near Museum Mile, in UES"

#Jacketgoals. Nuff said.

#NYFW Day 1 - The #Desigual Confidence

Staying true to form, Desigual puts on an amazing show, the set design being a watercolor and aesthetically pleasing stage, models with beautiful red rimmed makeup, bold eyes, and a dewy face look. Further beyond that canvas was the designs.

The Fall 2016 collection reflects upon the urban culture melting pot that encompasses all heritage, all cultures through its various prints and textures. I love how much fun Desigual puts into the outfits and the models you could tell loved it and felt comfortable.

The styling was so inspiring and gave one that feeling of self confidence and self expression. The prints are always so admired in the new variations they have and new ways they come alive. Not only was the show itself lit but so was the attendees, Mr. Nigel Barker, Fashion Photographer and Next Top Model Alum, Ms. Jay Alexander, Runway Coach Extraordinaire and few Next Top Model Alum, Ms. Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, French art director and model, plus daughter to one of our generations best fashion forward innovators and former French Vogue Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld.

P.S. - Desigual, I love you.

#NYFW Day 1 Highlights: Favorites and Details

So New York Fashion Week is upon us again, for those of you freezing for the street style, good luck, those getting your starbucks run on, good luck.

With the 2nd season at this new venue, it looks like everything is working out so far, especially for subway riders, taxi, lyft, and uber fans.

Loving some of what I am seeing so far. The trend is definitely a retrospect (vintage look to the past, no surprise) but with some new silhouettes, styling ideas, and the makeup, some of the looks are feeling brand new and inspiring.

From Creatures of the Wind being so glamorous and almost theatric not only in set but in dressing as well, it is remnant of another age, a classic ladylike look with a bit of a 1970s burnt color palette.

At BCBG - Some of the textural plays were nice but didnt like some of the choices. The teddy bear sandals were nice and cute. I loved the styling though it was cozy but a bit safe, like a little bit of a replay of the last two seasons. Then again BCBG is known for the color blocking. Did like the nomadic edgy silhouettes with the touch of cut lines in different areas. It was an overall feel of '70s, '90s, and early '00s all in one mix and match. Some of my favorites were these:

Desigual (Which I will have another post on) - As always is solid in their prints and designs but this time the styling was on, and it felt like a modern collage with an homage to the past and variance of cultures of what made the brand what it is, the integrity and identity.

P.S. - Kudos to Kanye for organizing such a huge event at MSG and getting the public immersed in terms of model casting for all color spectrums, extras, tickets, and celebrating everything. Cant knock it at all. I admire. Plus some of the stuff are good for the cold weather now, like the coats mostly.

A Getaway Unlike Any Other

So once again, I feel inspired to do an outfit post and right at the same time, one of the nicest hotels I have seen in San Francisco, The Fairmont, challenged me with what would be my outfit for the upcoming Valentine's Day. Since I am traveling to Florida soon enough, this is the perfect time to map out my warm weather looks.

Since I live in the east coast and have not visited the beautiful state of California, I am thinking of something easy breezy, no dresses as that is not how I am but something romantic, vintage-y, fun, and still me!

I mean picture it, I would be flying Mint by JetBlue, arriving to my rental car and going up to the hotel.

My first day out would be, a quick change out of my travel clothing and into my expedition gear. Exploring the air out there, the beach, the atmosphere, and starting a little shopping. Basically my day time look:
Getaway

A nice loose and easy basic grey tee, paired that tee with a nice lariat necklace that isnt too fussy, with my pants being the focal point of a fun baja inspired look, with a nice printed sandals too, and then a nice crossbody with a neutral tone as well, not to take away from the pants but has its own crisp clean lines of detail as well.

Top: T by Alexander Wang Cotton Blend Tee
Bottoms: Sea NY Red Frayed Culottes
Bag: Proenza Schouler PS1 Large Chain Wallet Bag
Necklace: Jennifer Zeuner Chain Y Necklace
Shoes: Billabong Sandals

And of course, a nice Rick Owens draping sweater when its chilly.

Then for the nighttime festivities when the lights are bright and the scene is dimming down, dinner with shrimp or penne alla vodka is on the menu, this is the stunner for the evening:

Stuff

A nice black outfit with some undertone details like an embellished collar and lace for the romantic festivities. Then some comfortable gladiators with 2 straps, a pair of mystic topaz lever back earrings, a wooden earthy bracelet in keeping with the brown color of the shoes and atmosphere, and finishing it off with a fun clutch bag that has florals!

Top: 3.1 Philip Lim Eyelet Embellished Top
Shorts: Twin-Set Lace Hem Shorts
Earrings: Mystic Topaz Gemstone Leverbacks
Bracelet: Isabel Marant Berbere Bracelet
Shoes: Polo Ralph Lauren Jaime Leather Sandals
Bag: Proenza Schouler Floral Print Satin Lunch Bag

And basically after this getaway, I naturally would not want to leave!

Exclusive pic of me not wanting to leave
But, after thinking of how much fun I would have and the goodies from shopping and the fantastic food, luxury, and spa activities, I would be happy for sure!
