Spider-Man Reboots: Tom Holland is the new Hero

So, this will be our third actor to play the role of the 21 century Spiderman. Welcome to the team Tom Holland. He takes over from the original Tobey Maguire and up until recently Andrew Garfield. I will admit, I was unhappy about the reboot from the Sam Raimi directed films of Spiderman 1, 2, and 3 with Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and James Franco, as they were gold. (Well we can say 3 took a bit of a dive and risk, it was alright....,).

This goes with any film in a film franchise, that wants to electrify the story line and play with characters after the successful first two films but sometimes wants to balance all of the elements, but end up sacrificing some of the original essence and charm the first films had along the way. Fast and Furious Franchise somehow in its 7th film, maybe going on 8, tends to have the right formula for the best results. (RIP Paul Walker)

 

But anywho, I digress. Tom Holland is a 19 year old Brit actor, who will not be headlining his own Spiderman films just yet, it is reported that he will star in the Captain American: Civil War film then start his own series. This is a massive step that especially took an interesting step in an interesting direction. Not to mention, he screen tested with fellow Marvel men and Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans. So I will give him the benefit of the doubt, lets see how he makes his own Peter Parker. He does have a baby face but lets see how it goes fans.

Holland will be the 2nd Brit to play this role. 1st was Garfield who is an American-Brit. :)

A #Nordstrom Rack Find! Proenza Schouler Baby

Being a member on the Purse Blog's Forum is quite the time waster yet you get into some knowledgable discussion and covet what each other has, not only in terms of bags, shoes,  and accessories, but also talk about the real world news, shopping experiences, and careers/workplace. I sometimes live on the bargain finds thread and always hear about everyone finding some lovely pieces at Nordstrom Rack. Little did I know, that I would finally get something instead of just Rebecca Minkoff or a Longchamp spotting at NR.

Presenting my new Proenza Schouler Cobalt Calf Hair Lunch Bag Clutch. Always a fan of PS and never had any of their lunch collection accessories, this is my first.

Got it for a fraction of the original price! I love the metallic silver leather interior  and spacey feel to it.

It holds a nice amount as well!

I mean this is basically a great piece to wear when I dont want a tote or crossbody but not carrying much that day, or going out with friends and family to a Tapas or Cafe place. So much potential with this!

My Needs - Summer Essentials

As the time is burning up, the list is on for ways to cool down, stay cool and appear to be staying cool lol. My list of smart summer essentials from shoes made for walking to sprays that have you feeling like its October again.

1) I know in the summer basics are great and essential but for me, it includes a good collection of graphic tees and tanks. I love this one by Uniqlo, they make the best collab ones and this one is no different. If you like good ol' Waldo like I do, then you can don this one. Can get it here.

2) If you have a smoothie or juicing places near you, I suggest you live there or have your own nutribullet, vitamix, magic bullet, or ninja blender where you can make different concoctions from healthy veggie and fruit smoothies to health warrior style ones with all the trimmings of chia seed.

3) On the days where flip flops are annoying and I too get annoyed by flat flat shoes and flip flops, I love a good solid shoe like an espadrille, keeps you cool and keeping you looking cool. I love the natural nautical stripe associated with these Tory Burch ones. Surf inspired indeed. Can get it here.

4) When showers are long in cold water and/or you are short in time, you can spray on your deodorant. Not only is the aerosol cooling but it can keep you fresh and rejuvenated all day long. Love and have this one by Sabon, Can get it here.

5) When clutches tend to get annoying or handle bags with all the weight is annoying as well, I love a good crossbody, whether you stay fresh with Vera Bradley cotton ones or get a dressier style one, like this neat nylon one by Henri Bendel. Great for traveling as well when you need a non-fussy bag on airplanes. Can get it here.

6) Lastly, not only aerosol deodorant is easy to use and keeps sweat at bay, but when you face feels like its a desert or melting, you can use facial blotting paper and a good facial mist like this, keeps your skin hydrated! I love this one by L'Occitane and sweat by it. The natural botanicals are non-irrating to the skin, the price isnt bad, and it compact for any travel. Nothing like something that can leave you refreshed. Can get it here.

And there you have it, my list of summer essentials that is pretty much condensed. Not only are they practical items to have but can make any adventure you may take in the summer, that much more comfortable. :)

Vera Bradley Wishlist

I have been looking through my Vera Bradley collection and realize that there are some patterns I dont have and others I already have but want it in a different style. I am really loving the Marrakesh Motifs, Lucky you, and my personal favorite, African Violet.

Plus I never realized that not only did Vera do cotton and nylon puffy bags but leather ones as well, so I have my eye on that La Fleur Emma Satchel in Blush :)

My definitive wishlist of things to get:

Latest Skincare Routine

Pretty much, the obligatory skincare post on what am I using on my skin. Whats in rotation for me right now are these babies:

Pretty much using the asian skincare steps have really helped my skin. The double cleansing, use of sheet masks, essence, serums, treatments, toner, emulsion, etc has worked. And not to mention it is fun to do.

My products, not all are shown, but this is in heavy rotation right now. From western to asian/ european products right now.

From Kiehl's, to Face Shop, to SK-II, Etude House, Burts Bees, etc. And of course a muslin cloth!

A nice facial brush, really gets deep in and its very soft, so its not abrasive on the skin.

I usually do: Double cleanse (oil first then milk/gel), toner, essence, serum/ emulsion, mask, lotion, treatment, moisturizer /sleeping pack/overnight cream.

And here I am in a Etude House sheet mask in pomegranate, I put it on after the serum and follow up with my daily moisturizer of either the Burt bees acne one or the Vichy acne with spf or Skinfood sun lotion if I am going outside. I am still learning and loving the various ways you are supposed to use items, what ingredients to look for, what skin concerns you can address, SNAIL, and when, so I suggest heading to the  Reddit Asian Beauty Thread Forum and get started. Excellent people with excellent advice, you dont even need to sign up. You can see hauls, advice, rant and raves on products, and all!

News: Frida Giannini is Married in Valentino!

Former Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini whom was ousted in favor of Head Accessories Designer, now Creative Director Alessandro Michele, married her beau a few days ago in Valentino!

Isn't she breath-taking!

She is forever my Gucci girl, I mean come on, she gave us that glorious Fall 2008 collection I'll never forget and the ad campaigns of Fall 2008 and Spring 2010. Things did become a bit stale but hopefully everyone and it looks like, everyone, is moving in a brilliant new direction towards happiness. :)

Fuzzy and Sparkles

Saturday night outfit of course. Had loads of fun at the casino, lost a bit of money but hey, you win some and you lose some.

I love this Gryphon jacket, it looks great dressing it for going out in the evening and its a nice piece for the daytime too. The metallic fur and satin sleeves of this varsity inspired number makes it a statement piece in itself.

Comfort Cool

Keeping it casual this friday with a good solid look with some detailed accents. My woven top, easy espadrilles, minimalist bag, and leather to go.

I just love a nice focal point being the top, casual shoes and a minimalist piece added to it, so its not a busy look, like this minimalist patent leather Academy bag by Reed Krakoff. Such a great bag that can be worn with nearly anything, and crossbody A++++

Today's Look: Feeling Scenic and Tweedy

I am finally wearing out this tweed sweater I have. I mean I dont like too dressy but sometimes you just gotta do it your way. I think with jeans and converses, its so casual. But with the bag, it looks elegant and the shirt gives a fun touch.

The shirt is a loose fit, so the slimmer boxy sweater off sets that and straight denim makes the rest of my outfit look a bit streamline, not hourglass but just casual.

But to be perfectly honest, I wear a lot of Gap denim, I find them comfortable and they fit in all the right places. Though this is my only pair of high rise denim in this fit and style, because thats usually a style that doesn't fit me in any way or benefit me, but these 1969 ones are magical. I like how they make my legs look and my outfits look neater.
