Easy Breezy and Silky

Another great easy outfit idea using my Jcrew Silk Cutout Tee. I wore it with some gorgeous boyfriend denim, my favorite floral paisley patterned flat slip ons, and for an edgy touch, the zippered leather tote. Isnt it so slouchy and perfect?
Top: J.Crew
Jeans: Gap Sexy Boyfriend 1969
Bag: Alexander Wang
Shoes: Lucky Brand
Jewelry: Various designers

Yeah, lately I have been inspired to show my outfits and what I wear. Sometimes I cannot only discuss runway trends, reviews, editorials, and things I like.

Leopard & Silk

Today was a bit windy so I did a complete opposite in terms of proportions of my bottoms and tops. Yesterday was a t-shirt and crop khakis, today was a sweatshirt and bermuda shorts. The only piece I have from that Altuzarra for Target collaboration, which was alright. I love the silk orchid print and how light and easy it is. Great transitional fall piece. Its not hot and not cold, just right.

I thought adding in my favorite plum colored Rebecca Minkoff Boyfriend Clutch crossbody would be an edgy and chic addition. And of course, whats trending is the exotic prints, so I added in leopard because why not. I usually do not follow trends outright but I think its not bad to add them into your regular style of dressing.

Top: Altuzarra for Target
Bermuda: Style and Co.
Sneakers: Forever 21
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff

A little street, skater meets glam isnt it? Thats usually how I do it. :)

Comfy Comic Lux

I have this insatiable desire for comic book t-shirts, most of my shirts are these quirky Warrior/Batman/Spiderman/Avengers adorned fronts with the most luxurious cotton lux feel to them.
Not only do they have these ease to be effortlessly cool but you can virtually put them with anything and its awesome.

I figured why not pair them with my favorite leather backpack, pink suede sneakers, and broken in straight khaki crops for a chill look. Not to mention a great transitioning into late 60s-70 degree weather for the upcoming fall.

T-shirt: Avengers
Khaki: Gap
Sneakers: Lanvin
Backpack: il Bisonte
Bracelets: Pandora/Hermes

Accessories details: Aren't they just so pretty. Got the Pandora as a birthday gift :) Was not into Pandora at all but I have since become a turncoat when I ventured into one of their stores with a friend. Now all I have to do is charm it up. The Hermes clic clac is forever graceful and the Lanvin with the snakeskin cap toe is epic. Just love how easy it is to pair them all up for a quirky but fun look.

Linen and Printage

Following from that menswear post, good material is inspiring. There is nothing like a good linen piece, I love these by Chico's that I got from the bargain store. Not to mention the fun orange color?! More like summer is not over yet!

Tee: Gap, Capris: Chico's, Bag: Vintage Chanel, and Slippers: J.Crew

Paired with a printed cotton tee, isn't it the novelty type of fun? But in all honesty, I love how easy it is to throw this together and still look so chic.

A Happy BONOBOS Fall 2014~

I have had the pleasure of seeing so many different New York Fashion Week looks, London Fashion Week looks, and Milan Fashion Week looks over the past month but enough about womenswear in this post. Its all about the men, now. I recently found out about BONOBOS, which is a E-Commerce NYC based menswear clothing company that specializes in luxurious fabrics, suits to die for,  and achieving the standards of male style that other companies sometimes fail to nail.

Their new Fall 2014 Suits really does not disappoint. Its a new collection of wool suits with the element of textures of tweed that complement the different shades/ leaves of fall. Not to mention tuxedos that make a man feel like a man. The correct fit, color, and overall daper & cool is what is ultimately important.

The new Bonobos Foundation Suits and Capstone Tuxedos in the Italian wool material and bold lapels showcase not only looking good but it also sells a lifestyle. Below are pictures from the ad campaign for Fall.

I mean who wouldn't want to be this guy? Put on your suit and lay back on success. Pop champagne bottles. Your vintage car and perfectly tailored suit. Going out with your date/girlfriend/wife knowing that the both of you are living the life of being seamlessly sophisticated.

Taking a closer look at the new fall Capstone Tuxedos and Foundation Suits, I love the overall look and details. The suits come in standard or slim fits, short, regular or tall sizing which is very smart as this will appeal to most and every man. There is no excuse not to look swell plus the Italian wool is nothing to mess with, that is quality.

Not to mention, this fall was inspired by the early British rock invasion, early 1960s, think of the bands in their earlier days like Jagger from Rolling Stones, the Kinks, early Who, and Screaming Lord Sutch.

Loving this deep navy silky looking suit with the black lapels and polka dot lining. Not to mention that ergonomic pocket that you can keep your metrocard (if you are a NYC person and you're in a rush!) and business card when networking!

It is even available in black.

Three words: Get it here.

P.S. - Also take a look at the Nottingham blazers because if those do not spell out English Country lad, I don't know what does.

Cooling It Out

Following from my silk cutout tee, I also bought this Silk Sleeve Sweatshirt by J. Crew in this heathered grey color. I love the soft elbows and modern updates to the original grey sweatshirt that nearly everyone has in their wardrobe. This is a light piece and is not fleeced, so its great to wear now during transitioning months into fall. With shorts, or these Vintage Rolled Crops by Gap, I love how smart one can look in these. To give these neutrals a cute push, I wore my favorite flamingo espadrilles with them by Tory Burch.

Sweater Top: J.Crew, Crops: Gap, Bag: Dooney & Bourke Gwenny Small Tote and Shoes: Tory Burch.

Not only can you be cool and simple, but the right bag and shoe makes it fun. The last photo can be captioned "I hate to see you go but I like to watch you leave....." LOL

#NYFW Art Institute Student and Graduate Collections Spring 2015

Always a pleasure to see the students and graduate continuing students in the Art Institutes Fashion Design Program. The level of creativity and innovation, not to mention flair, is what's part of the necessisity to be a great designer (also media and commerce but I digress). The best part of the show when the blairing music comes on and the models showcase the sketches that come to life. Not to mention the showgoers cheering at the end when the designers appear with their final models.

The list of designers this time around are: Jose Medina, Michael Tornato, Cecil Dove, Charles Anthony & Flavia Nunez, Nareesa Shorter, Lavan Chxeidze, Kibonen Nfi, Yohanna Gursey, Joshuan Aponte, Angelo Rosa, Nassim Shadmani, and Tory Van Thompson.

I definitely recognize Joshuan Aponte from the Fall 2014 Student Collection series, If anyone remembers his avant garde silverly glamour large bubble jacket! I do. (Click on Art Institutes link in the bottom to see what he did last season).

To my delight, there was some very nice influences and fun silhouettes for spring.

This look by Angelo Rosa is so egdy and leans on the idea of silhouetted separates. A nice loose yellow leather pants I never thought could happen in spring but could be a good addition to any 80s lover's closet.

Another look, this time by Cecil Dove. Very avant garde reminds me of a cross between Rick Owens and Jean Paul Gaultier. I love the asymmetric sheer fabric play against the satin pants.

Another amazing look by Charles Flavia, the level of geometry work and stitching on this looks fantastic. Reminds me of a cross between Vena Cava, Prada, and Delpozo. Its a little mod, geometric, and fun. But the silhouette and the out of the box shape is truly what makes fashion fun.

Another favorite look of mine, this one by Jose Medina. Reminds me of House of Holland in a way. The garter like cutaway of hte dress and the silver band accessories add to the idea of this modern warrior that isnt afraid to take a fashion risk.

My favorite as usual, Joshuan Aponte. He shows a sporty cut crop top alla Peter Som/Alexander Wang in the fabulous lusterious coral top. Then with the career wear casual cement colored shorts is incredible. Not to mention the lace up heels.

Love this Kibonen Nfi look. I love the flowing silhouette of this piece, not the mention the addition of the scarf, I love this.

Amazing look by Lavan Chxeidze, for men. The shredded cut of the shirt, I love the basic pairing of the grey duster cardigan and black shorts. Its effortlessly cool without even trying. The addition of the beads looks like he is going to a rager. Love it :)

Another cool look this time by Michael Tornato. I am a sucker for stripes and this pirate esque urbanite look is really amazing. :)

Love this look by Nareesa Shorter. This look is sheer elegance and is reminiscent of an ice skater style of silhouette. I love the layering cuts and the cream color. Its just so amazingly clean. :)

This look by Nassim Shadmani took my breath away. This felt like minimalistic haute couture if that makes any sense. :)

Love this look by Tory Van Thompson. I love the hat with this look, alla Pharrell and cowboy chic. The short bottom reminds me of the shape and illusions of the scottish kilt. Paired with a nicely constructed white shirt, can be a confident man.

Lastly this look by Yohanna Gursey is the quintessential summer chic. The asian influence designed wrap top alla Diane Von Furstenberg in the salmon and pastel pink shades wiht a pair of dainty and smart crop pants, is perfection.

Honestly, the Art Institute Student Designers never disappoint me, they seem to breathe new life into the emerging industry that has become a little stale in some aspects but they are the emerging designers of tomorrow. Its good to foster and examine such talent. Im proud to always be invited to see it.

Glimmering Casuals

I figured out that there is nothing wrong with jewelled collar anything, this is not an overkill and its as awesome as using your 90s bedazzler or iron-on patches on your denim anything and bags. The fact that this is casual enough to dress up and down for school or any occasion, is exactly the wearability I look for. Nothing stuck up but I can wear it and It suits me.
Nobody I think, loves a good printed shoe and easy crossbody bag combo like me.

Sweater Top: J.Crew, Crops: Broken-In Straights by Gap, Bag: Kipling, and Shoes by Lucky Brand.

Ahhhhh! Jewels!

All in those details and once again, "I love to watch you leave" kind of caption for that last picture. LOL

A Nod to Diego Uchitel

Flashback to my favorite Ad Campaigns shot by Diego Uchitel, the Argentine photographer who has a prolific 25 year career of wowing us with emotional inducing photography that we could never rival in anyway.

The images just command your entire attention at the subject and how she relates to the background. Not to mention how effortlessly glamourous she is wearing the clothing by Piazza Sempione and Donna Karan New York, respectively.

Still wowed. But I hope I am not the only one who feels moody like the ladies in these print ads.

Beach Weekend: Casual Proportions

In the last days of shorts season, heading to the beach in this number, to enjoy the surf, sand, and hiding under the umbrella with my fan mister.

1st Look: Shirt: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Shorts: American Eagle Outfitters, Bag: Vera Bradley, and Shoes: Lucky Brand

I just love the boyfriend fit, loose and easy fits of both the denim shorts and top. the asymmetric playing the patterns are doing on this MBMJ top. Its quite smart and fun. Then add my usual print love to the crossbody bag and shoes. Paisley, Paisley, Paisley.

The 2nd Outfit is for the 2nd day at the Beach. No bag or shoes, so I probably wont get any service, but its the same shoes in the 1st outfit. No change really.

Love the linen tee by J.Crew, it is so soft and breezy with that salmon colored shorts by Gap.

 Super easy.
