This Friday, today, I find that I am really embracing Flying Lotus more than usual and have this easy flow and energetic piece on repeat:
Flying Lotus - Do The Astral Plane (Its from its 2010 Album Cosmogramma)
Dont you find this a nice song that could be possibly played during a DKNY runway show or an Alexander Wang runway show :)

Jacket Envy
By now, to everyone, it should be evident that I really love coats and jackets. I mean outerwear is one of the most important pieces of the essential outfit. Not only for functionality but comfort, the ability to layer, the ability to look cool, look chic, and have a sense of universality that can match any outfit. So you can get your money's worth.
Cool Coat Rack to hang them all by Industrial Garment Rack |
Which brings me to my favorite coats/jackets I want to obtain for this fall/winter. I mean they are all so perfect to me! Not only would I have more coats and donate some "pushing 30" old ones but these have a sense of chic, classic fit, an element of unique design, and they are cool enough to fit my wardrobe and sense of everyday wear.
I think I can guarantee, I will probably end up with 3 out of this set, I can only dream of purchasing an in season coveted Burberry piece.
1st Jacket: HandM Leather sleeve and tweedy base Jacket, here for $59.99. The least expensive and chicest of all.
2nd Jacket: The now out of stock, Burberry Color Block Check Blanket Poncho. It was that piece that glided down the runway in monogrammed model's initials and looked so cool with their looks. Not only chic but a way to keep warm and still show off your outfit. Here, was $1,395.00.
3rd Jacket: The Biker Moto Rippled Sleeve Trench of my dreams! The W118 by Walter Baker Keanue Trench. As seen on Pretty Little Liars on the character Spencer played by Troian Bellisario and Adrienne Bailon. Definitely hands down one of my favorite inspirations from that leather chic trench series Burberry show some seasons back. Here for $238.00.
4th Jacket: J.Crew Sterling Jacket. Definitely an English seaside feel anorak but with city chic and militia themes. Love the simplicity of this. Here for $198.00. (On sale for 25% off with coupon, SHOPNOW)
5th Jacket: J.Crew Long Colorblock Field Jacket. No longer available but there some auctions over at Ebay that have them ranging from $100 to $130 and they are new. I saw this one in stores when it was a new arrival last year. Even thought its off season its still a classic jacket to get even now.
6th and Last Jacket: Burberry Oversize Textured Wool Coat. Love the textures on it, the big brass buttons, the long length and comfy feel of a "Bender-esque" Breakfast Club Coat to get warm in. Here for $1,495.00. Boy this one is a wishlist item for a while.

Review: SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil
Ok, I have been getting on the skin care bandwagon and taking better care of my skin like I used to. Behold the dozens of steps associated with asian beauty via the korean skincare step system. I tend to do more of a watered down version of cleansing, buffing, massage, treatment mask, and cream.
For cleansing, I have days where I will only use my Kose Sekkisei Oriental Herb Facial Soap or the SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil or the Missha Super Aqua Cleansing Milk. Other days I will two washes consisting of the oil based wash and then the cream.
Personally in terms of SK-II, I have always seen the brand around town in places like Macys, Nordstrom, Sephora, etc, but never really cared or took the bite into their things. One day at a store near me, they were selling it half off the original price, so I decided then why not since it keeps taunting me.
SK-II is a japanese based company like my other asian beauty favorites like Shiseido, Kose, Missha, Etude House, SkinFood and etc. I finally tried the oil the same night I purchased and I have to say I loved it.
Compared to the Shu Uemura cleansing oil, both are on the same level in terms of absorption of oil, the melting of my favorite eye shadows, the moisturized oil and smooth baby's bottom texture I get from it. I honestly cant stop touching my face after I use it.
Overall, I definitely will check out more SK-II items as I am now aware of how wonderful they are. It wont replace my other products I use but as a matter of fact, it can add to my burgeoning collection of skincare products.

Chic Twist
I am the type of person that loves some mix of accessories on my tomboy-ishly neutral and cool outfit.
Black tee with some graphic, cargo khaki pants, espadrilles, a lux bag and necklace. Thats my ideal chill outfit to go shopping, to the doctor or where ever else I want to go.
Tee: Uniqlo / Pants: Gap / Shoes: Tory Burch / Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Elle / Necklace: Macys / Ring: Michael Valitutti
Not only can I still feel feminine but essentially me with a Chic Twist.

Classic Boy Meets World Vs. Girl Meets World
I was just reliving some Boy Meets World clips and the old episodes over at ABC Family. And I thought that every time it came on Disney channel and ABC TGIF, I never missed a beat.
That show always taught different ways of thinking, values from all walks of life, how everyone can be friends, how to deal with high school, the growing pains of growing up into adulthood, how to deal with relationships, and of course each character with strengths and flaws that complement each other for life. Not to mention comedic flair and twists that kept audience captivated to watch all the main and secondary characters grow up together and become life long friends.
The Cory and Shawn Bromance that is forever!
I just watched the first two episodes of Girl Meets World about Cory and Topanga in New York living with their children, daughter and younger son plus the extension of friends and crushes. And the fact that Cory is now a Feeny! And I gotta say its a nice start, a little cheesy but I guess its simplified to try and hit the changing demographic and tv preferences of the younger generation. I do like the comedic timing but its a watch and lets see at this point for me.
But I think, there is life lessons to see from both shows and how to make your life your own world and leave your mark in it.

Sporty Flavor
Lately, I have been on my gym game with my Insanity workouts and sometimes a visit to a group fitness class. Going to finish Insanity and then probably move onto Tapout XT for that strong mma lean body. And the reason for this set is that lately, gym and fashion has been emerging since Net-A-Sporter came out, Fitbit and Tory Burch teamed up, and ever since Norma Kamali has that Wellness and Fitness Fashion Cafe here in NY.
I suppose its the in thing to be fit and why not look good while you're at it. This outfit would a great post workout, back into my casuals outfit with a sporty flavor.
The nicely sporty tappered slim leg pants is by Tibi, I love the vertical stripes on it. The Simple Grey Tee is by H&M, always a great basic to own, as it can practically work with any outfit. Then when you are still a little heated but dont want a full on sweater due to the wind outfit, a windbreaker sheer jacket by DKNY, who does sportswear and casuality of NYC like no one else. Finished off with a pair of converses, pink for a nice fun fem color.
And of course, the accessories to make it not overtly sporty but city chic. The Coach Borough Bag to put all of your needs into, not only the leather perfection but the shape is so simple and chic that its a practical bag in all respects. Finally polish with jewelry, the Tory Burch Resin Studs which are dainty for the ear and a classic black Movado watch, not only for time, but for a sleek look when going out for possible drinks at the hotel bar or riding the taxi or train back home!
Sporty but polished somehow :) My type of downtime but casual look.

Luxe Night Out Outfit
This is one of the sets I had a bit of a hard time trying to jazzy up those shorts but not have everything be over the top. I love the idea of this outfit for a Luxe Night Out. The dainty but breathtaking earrings, the strappy but not too tall heels (You do need comfort), the jazzy embellished silk shorts, and the simple black shirt.
Just the thought of starting this set came from those Thakoon Addition silk embellished shorts. I just thought they were so glam and since its the summer, I envision being in Chelsea walking in something fun and eye catching! Basically luxe. Then came the accessories. Comfortable but heeled sandals.
A luxe Mulberry bag with some croc detail that can be hard to miss if you dont look closely.
Nice crystal earrings. I believe this creates a balance without looking too gaudy. And of course, a simple black shirt.
And what do you know, its the black army nightlife gear. Haha, just kidding but this is what my night out would be like.

Inspired for Less: Burberry Boots
By now I realized not only do I have a Burberry obsession in terms of their muffler silk and wool scarves but also I enjoy their Prorsum runway coats, their London and Brit coats and jackets, respectively.
Now adding their boots and trainers to that mold, I found these Brit classic inspired boots that remind me of these babies I wanted from Burberry. Not only is this a cheaper alternative for a pair of buckled boots but its a nice substitute. With respectively avoiding the tartan plaid Burberry's heritage is known for.
Only real difference is the ratio of suede on the HM pair and the amount of leather on the Burberry pair.
Left Boots: H&M, available here for $49.95.
Right Boots: Burberry, available here for $795.
Happy Fall Shopping~

Back to School Ready!
I know this may sound repetitive but I like to mix contemporary with high end and low end. So a good Lux looking trench with some leather embellishments is a great way to start off the fall with some ripped denim (Cropped if you may since it might be 60 degrees), with a pony haired sneakers for a little fun, a regular easy tee (best ones are from the gap and hanes), and a really lovely high end bag, in this case, the PS1 Proenza Schouler Backpack, which just came out not too long ago. And a simple cool earrings with a little design to top it all off.
Just to keep it simple, no bracelets or extra embellishments etc. Since im in class writing, too many clic clac bracelets will stray attention to me or prevent me from having my arm fully on the desk to write! Haha :)
The one good thing about back to school for is graduating soon, my new fall additions to wear, fashion week in september. Bad thing: The endless late nights and 500+ pages to read.

Love: Burberry Classic Coats
As we get closer to fall, everyone is out coat and jacket shopping for every occasion, comfort, material, and style. I for one think Burberry the classic connoisseur of wool, cashmere, trench, and buckled coats is the perfect retailer to get nice jackets if you have the dollars to go to the boutique, check out Burberry Brit stores, or scour online sales and Ebay.
I myself own two Burberry Coats, a wool and cashmere Stancross coat and a black quilted easy jacket. What Im envious of and want right now are these babies! Some are from the Prorsum, Brit, and London lines respectively.

And without further ado, my new stancross coat!
I mean the way Christopher Bailey puts such spins on these classic Burberry styles and innovate them the next level chic for the modern urban girl truly keeps me interested every season. I mean, I even tried one on at Off Saks 5th. Yes, that Grommet Bottom Wool Trench. It was heavy but boy did I feel like a million dollars.
