Home: Anthropology Find

As its a new year and I have not redecorated anything in my room since my Ikea adventure last year and added that Cynthia Rowley Reed Indian Elephant Diffuser, I started looking at various websites and have complied a list of things I love that are ethnic, eclectic, homely, and just what I love in general.

One of those things, is this Mara Hoffman Floor Pillow, who is an amazing print designer, did a collection of home goods sold at Anthropologie.com.

Available here for $168.

God knows I wish I had the extra money to buy one and have it laying about on the floor. Its just one of those effortlessly cool home decor items that make your space even cooler. Not to mention the cushion for you pushion.

While Its Hot: Sin City Marv

Soon to be released, an all-new, limited-edition vinyl figure of Sin City’s beloved brute, Marv! This interpretation of Marv was created by Eric So, a connoisseur and leader in the Hong Kong designer-toy movement. With the guidance of Frank Miller, So has sculpted a thirteen-inch vinyl figure that is unlike any that has come before it.

Each figure is individually hand painted and comes with a pack of band-aid stickers, which collectors may affix to Marv as they like. Also included is a certificate of authenticity, signed by both Frank Miller and Eric So.

“Besides the figure itself, the packaqe is innovative and fun” noted Dark Horse vice president of product development, David Scroggy. “Eric has come up with a gray translucent plastic blister that is the flat front of the box. The Marv figure inside is visible in silhouette. The outer surface is over-printed in white, creating the illusion of a shadowy Marv walking in the snow. This was inspired by Miller’s classic Silent Night story. It is a striking package design.”

Frank Miller is widely acclaimed worldwide for his comic work and boasts multiple Hollywood successes, including two adaptations of his masterwork, Sin City. Marv is one of Sin City’s most memorable characters, in both comics and film.

There will only be 950 of these beauties and will arrive just in time for the release of Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. It will be available for $150 of thirteen inches of this pure limited edition glory. September 10th itll be ready!

So get those savings and piggy banks ready.

While Its Hot: Bing Bang Sample Sale

This is a late set of news but for all of my fellow New Yorkers, who are enjoying other currently sample sales like J. Crew Warehouse and Helmut Lang, there is the Bing Bang "BB" Sample Sale going on tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the last day.

Bing Bang sells really cute jewelry like these pieces. Can be a bit novelty and trendy but they are fun for right now. Blends well with your neutrals that you want to jazzy up a bit!

What's Summering at J. Crew

Going through J. Crew's website this time of year is my favorite, not only are factory shirts cheaper but you get to see some really neat spring/summer items that you can actually wear and look cool for school in.

Speaking of public school, the menswear CFDA award winners had a pop-up sale in New York but sold out alot of their goodies on the J. Crew website as well. There are a few sweatshirts available and I am going to try to pick up one! I love the effortless cool and school style influence from free dressing and uniformed schools.

Not to mention other goodies here that I want that is sure to induce a color coma and wearing leather sandals all summer~

First: The Gemstone Floral Silk Tee. Easy silk for the summer and the prints you can mix with your basics.

Second: Collection Painted Denim Shorts. Love the edgy carpenter feel to these. Usually love denim shorts that give you a little something more than a different wash.

Third: Equestrian Slingback Sandals. Beautiful horsebit, golden embellishments and all leather straps and ankle strap. I love how minimalist it is but has that extra rich touch.

Fourth: Factory Printed Linen Pullover. Love the geometric patterning and the linen material, easy to wear casually and for going out for a job interview. Not to mention the cheap price!

Fifth: Broken-In Boyfriend Chino Shorts in Paint Splatter. Not only is paint splatter great on denim but regular chino as well.

Sixth: Factory Printed Voile Pullover in Sunwashed pink. Cheap price, the brush stroked vs tiger claw print looking display of pink and grey is very fun!

Seventh: Public School for J. Crew PS Sweatshirt. Love the wrist trims and cool print on the sweatshirt, its slouchy and a fun uber cool piece to add to any outfit.

Overall, these are my favorite pieces browsing through the web. Next week, I will do a HM post to see whats new over there~

Creative: Casual Details

Casual Details

And on that note, I was a little inspired by the last Matthew Williamson post a few days ago (3), that I actually made a set over at polyvore using my favorite floral Matthew Williamson tee.

I thought that since I am not an overtly feminine type of girl but love shorts, pants, and capris, I would stick to that but add a little lace to it. So I can embrace the flirtaciousness of lace.

Staying true to my comfort, paired it with a pair of sneakers. Superga x The Row. I just love the gold details.

Thus adding one of my favorite bag designers, Rebecca Minkoff, the MAC Crossbody Bag! Not only is it regular leather but has some lizard skin like embellishing.

And finally a little wrist candy in terms of this knotty Dannijo bracelet. Im a sucker for cool looking bracelets. Sometimes i stack them and sometimes I dont. But I do love ones that have some character to them.

Overall the details of an embellished floral white tee with white lace bottoms in contrast to a lizard skin like black bag and black sneakers with gold tab details, I think is truly cool.

Raving: Matthew Williamson Summerific

A Matthew Williamson summer indeed!

I havent checked out Matthew Williamson's stuff in a long time but I am so wowed. I forgot about this Brit's ability for his ideal girl to wear florals and nature all at once. They are so elegant and freshly bold and colorful, his designs.

I miss his NY mortar store, you could be able to pop in and look at the amazing embellishments and feminine cuts to his dresses and pants.

Here are my favorite Williamson summer items that I would kill for right now! Perfect for every mood and occasion.

Amelia Bug Clutch - Gorgeous leather and chain link strapped bag with embellished jeweled flies on it!

Wild Botanical Tee - Love the idea of a floral white tee that is so easy to wear. With a black pair of slouchy shorts and a lovely bright skimmer flats.

Cactus Garden Scarf - Cute scarf to channel your english tea time look.

Blue Abstract Oversized Sunglasses - Love glasses with a design on it. Rather than a minimalist pair sometimes!

Beeh Loves: Gift Library of Caroline Stanbury~

I am sure most of us have seen the premiere and second episode of the newest Bravo show, Ladies of London, and immediately I love it. Seeing different areas like Notting Hill and what not, since I wanted to visit the United Kingdom and see Europe next summer.

I am so enamored with Caroline Stanbury, always heard of her and about her even before the show but she has this amazing company called the Gift Library, with her namesake. Its basically like a concierge shop sort of like a Colette but has different sections and categories where you can find a gift or even something for yourself or even your home!

Not only does it carry luxury brands like a Sophie Hulme Zip Top Bowling Bag for a girl's 21st Birthday but for the more aged and well-versed 50 year old's birthday, a crystal decanter set by Ginger Brown.

So its not limited by any means and there is good luxurious selections.
Its kind of perfect for the husband who can have no idea what to buy for his wife and what a daughter can buy for her father or mother. Either way, I am impressed.

You can visit the Gift library here.

Plus I included a little bit of her closet inducing coma video that will make you swoon. Her closet was featured in the first episode.

Thursday Link Love~

Here is what I am into for this week.

First up is a Vogue Olsens Link that I thought was relatable and well written, reminds me of the revolution they gave to me as I was growing up alongside them.

Second is another Vogue article that gives us a slideshow of all of Elizabeth Hurley's greatest looks all by Versace. Of course, Versace is not over.
Photo: By Vogue

Thirdly, is Camille over the rainbow is featured on Lucky discussing what we all are thinking about European fashion and exactly what goes on over there. Even though this may be factual or way left subjective, we can consider this when looking at the fashion week shows and Parisian brands to see the correlations.

Fourth, Alvin Ailey Dancers tout around in designer gorgeous feminine dresses from Sally Lapointe to Tibi. Not only is this a beautiful photo set but you can appreciate the ladies classically trained muscles and graciousness alongside the dresses.

Lastly, I usually enjoy reading articles by Racked and in their New York section, but this one piqued my interest because I remembered editors raving about Public School this past fashion week and anything with J. Crew my interest is always piqued.

~Summer Fitness Fun~

The time of spring and summer spurs on juices, smoothies, the beach, surf, outside walking, the park, and not to mention capris, shorts, dresses, tank tops, and muscle tees!

For myself, I have been an avid fitness lover since my days as an athlete. From being an Equestrian when I was younger, a tennis player, and varsity badminton player. Staying in shape, fitness, and the healthy lifestyle has always been important to me.

I wanna know what workout programs or your regimens are!

I have done Focus T25 by Shaun T in the past, from December to April and lost 10 pounds and inches.

Now I am on Insanity, yes that INSANITY, just finished month 1 and I am in recovery week about to hit max workouts soon~

But here are some of my workouts I own. Some from Beachbody and others are other popular ones!

My little collection of Tracy Anderson workouts. Great for those light days when you need the pilates and strength muscular structure work she does best. Toning.

Then my Namaste Yoga dvd, that combines Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga with the soothing voice of Kate Potter narrating and the beautiful scenes of Canada. Then my Beachbody program, Turbo Jam by Chalene Johnson, great kickboxing and dance workout~

My other dvds, Fe Fit 90 Day Fitness Experience, havent tried it yet but I will start it after I finish Insanity.
My favorite yogi, Sara Ivanhoe's Total Body Yoga with weights workout, which is great for that extra challenge.
And of course my exhale core fusion thighs & glutes dvd, great for tightening up the lower body and core. My only exhale dvd left as I have sold out the rest on Ebay.
And the infamous hard Zuzka Light's workouts. The power cardio series.

Love the Bob Harper Dvds, The Firm Express, Figurerobics Korean Tracy style workouts, and the Les Mills Combat System.

And the Tapout XT series.

I have alot more but they are stored away as these are my main focus.

And of course my weight set from Gold's Gym. It carries  3 lb, 5 lb, and the challenging 8 lb I am progressing to.

Summer Inspiration 2014~

The things I love about summer. Printed tops, beaches, shorts, water, loose fit clothing, ripped denim, the sunset, bars, rooftop pools, outdoor fitness classes, feeding birds by the pond, so hot you cool off by putting your ice cold water all over your skin, and hanging out in air conditioned places.

This is my kind of summer~
