Dreaming of You, Coats!

Coats and awesome

As of lately, in the frequency of my posts, you guys can see that I have fallen in love with coats on and off the runway. To look up and see every designer's inspirations and how they translate that into awesome coats, I literally dreamt up these coats and jackets last night.

The idea of mixed fabric, striped, blocking, military, utilitary, and trench coats were surely there.

In this mix of coats there are some from Asos, Burberry, Etro, Forever 21, Mango, Etro,  Rag and Bone, and Aosop. Can you guess which designer is which?! :)

A Tokyomilk Necessity

One of my favorite items when I went to Barney's CO-OP and was introduced to it about a year or two ago. Tokyomilk has a whole bunch of products for the body, perfumes, and cosmetics.

I have been introduced to the hand creams and tubular fragrances. This is my recent purchase when I was at Barneys looking for a new scent to try.

The Vie La Mort. No. 90.

This is the cute pouch it comes in and the ingredients and flavourful scents.

Price: $22. and you can also buy from their original website here: TOKYOMILK

#LFW: Looks from Mulberry and Peter Pilotto, it all takes the cake

Two more collections I am loving all the way across the "pond", is Mulberry A/W 13 and Peter Pilotto A/W 13.

Mulberry has awesome top handle and bowling style bags which I cant wait to see play out in stores and gorgeous herringbone plaid english prints that I love. In the coats design or jacket.
I love the way its done as a block itself.
The body of the coat is the plaid and the sleeves are monochromatic black. And dont forget the femme gloves.
Of course leather is not too far behind, makes for a good clean cut look.

Dont forget, your dog can look like you in fabulous playful prints and it is your newest accessory.

For Peter Pilotto, I got the classic sense of his intertwined screened designs but it evolved.
The first cropped jacket reminds me of a bull fighter and the rest of the collection kind of followed suit. The shape of the boxy cut of a jacket is lovely.
The sharp sleeves jutting out is bold and complementary to the color palettes chosen on these panted and skirted looks. Shoulders and the prints together brought out his aesthetic.
His collection this time around is so aesthetically architectural. One of my favorites from London Fashion Week.
Now the question is, will Emma Watson don one of these printed beauties again? I sure hope so.
Hello Cara, I see you! :)

#LFW: Burberry Prorsum A/W 2013 : Take a walk on the wild side

Burberry showcased yesterday at London's Fashion Week and its always a pleasure to see what Christopher Bailey comes up with.

This time its various prints and materials that continue to dominate an edgy touch to the classic Burberry Trench coat. The daper male also has his usual burberry carry on but a nice leopard touch loafers. Hello, gorgeous.

A latex kind of material added a certain sensuality to some of the looks.
The heart prints, leopards, that snake effect skirt stole my heart.

The grommet, busy bottom of the trench that Karlie is wearing, so neat. Who needs accessories.
That metal belt and grommeted bag that highlights the coat that Cara is wearing.

And that shiny matted stripe outfit. I need it all.
Jourdan in a glam gold shiny see through like top and white stylish pencil long skirt. I see a movie premiere outfit in this.

Again, a metallic element evident on the dress that Cara is wearing and the metallic embellished detail collar on that last look.

Burberry Prorsum never fails me. Very edgy, stayed playful, a little ladylike elements still are showcased but this takes Burberry further into a realm I am loving.

I smell another DIY I want to do from this autumn collection. Why wait until autumn!

By the way, Jourdan, Cara, and Karlie, I see you!

Cheers,

Beeh takes on Prabal Gurung x Target Collaboration

I remember, when I first blogged on this collaboration. I fell in love with the look book and all of the interviews Prabal himself has done on the collection.

I had items marked, specifics to see and the materials in how they translate in person.
I went on the night of Sunday when it was released last week.

When I went there wasn't many people at my home location so I could time to look. Not much was left in comparison to the Neiman Marcus x Target Fiasco but I digress. Mostly the blouses and tops were left.
Nothing of the bags, shoes, shorts, leather jacket or sweaters.

Courtesy of Racked
This is what I wanted first and foremost. The sweatshirt. I did not end up finding this, went to three target locations where they are and will remain sold out.

I did try on some of my picks that I saw pre-release and in the lookbook.
The first date print dress.
I did like it, but it was not for me. It was quite short or not the length I wanted it to be on my frame. The fabric was breathable and lovely for the money.
 Had to swish!

This was one of my last heels left. This one I actually loved. It was a 9.5 and I needed a 9. I do love the lacing detail and mesh siding.

All in all, I ended up buying these babies. The one of the left from my home location.
One on the right near by my university.

The print, mesh edgy cap sleeves, truly stole my heart.

I honestly cant wait for the spring to wear these. So I will probably do major layering to show these off very soon.

The Prabal Gurung for Target is a step in the right direction for getting excited about Target Designer Collaborations again, no?

Cheers,

#NYFW Leftover Adventure : Tory Burch's Autumn/ Winter 2013

Tory Burch presented a gorgeous collection during last week's epic New York Fashion Week and I had the pleasure to see the photographs develop and live vicariously through instagrams, tweets, and streaming.

Her collection comes as an emancipation to her ex-husband and way to go girl. She did it big.
Not only was this a celebration of her larger network of her empire but this show was not a presentation but a full on runway show.

Here are some of my favorite looks:

Thinking of the Tory Burch Girl.
Glamorous. Sophisticated. Fun. Proper. Ladylike but has a little mischevious streak if you can bring it out of her.

She can glam it up for a dinner party. Or put on a whimsical feminine suit, part her hair, and walk with confidence to go have some wholesome fun!

And of course, one of my favorite models these days was there, Cara Delevigne. Can I say she wears the hell outta that tweedy skirt suit set. (Try saying that three times fast)

#NYFW - Anna Sui's Fall/ Winter 2013 Soiree

This is one of my favorite collections that Anna Sui has done. Her genius truly continues through her vibrant thoughtfuless of a woman's shape, prints, and a quirky combo that tickles me.

This was definitely a walk through the 60s in terms of bold eyebrows, a fluffy hair bun at the back, and funky prints and matching socks (on some), which tell a fun story.

Here are some of my favorites from the collection:

This also feels like a bookworm girl with the fancy of money and she gets a taste of the mod scene and further throws herself into it. Loving the vibe, style, and fashions.
This girl has a lot of friends.
Look at the detail on that last outfit, the black grommets on the tunic and pants. What a touch of 60s-70s.

#NYFW Looks from Altuzarra and Christian Siriano Fall/ Winter 2013

Another successful season for Joseph Altuzarra as he takes his tailoring, casual cool looks to the next level.
That leather and trench coat combo is sick.
And that skirt with the asymmetric cut and open inner thigh, sexy.

My favorite looks from the collection:

Christian Siriano, you can count on to sew amazing pieces that are bold, dramatic, and has his essence for design.

The influence this season was the Russian Opera.
Piercing eyes with black rimmed eyewear.
Parted hair with a braid tucked in back.

The embroidery, silk, Chartreuse material, and tulle truly goes a long way.
My favorite looks from the collection:

What is amazing is that every designer tells a story through their clothing and collections. Every intricate detail tells about who they are, what their brand's girl represents.

Beeh's Wishful Bag of the Week

Wish upon a star and put it in your pocket. Never let it fade away.

Or I could put this star into this bag and have it forever :)
This is a gorgeous water snake effect tote by Henri Bendel here

And get the name: Sorial Rubina Tote. If that's not royal and wishful, I dont know what is.

I need it.

#NYFW: Mara Hoffman F/W 2013 , Colors Galore!

Mara Hoffman showcased her newest collection for next fall called "Mystics and Misfits".

I loved that the collection showed vibrancy, gypsy like elements, and abstract prints which make me excited to do the regular blacks with some pop of color no?

Hoffman explains, "I wanted to embrace what we do best with this collection and give our girls what they love most- color, prints and wearable yet unique silhouettes."

MARA HOFFMAN FALL/WINTER 2013 COLLECTION

MYSTICS & MISFITS

For this season, Hoffman brings us along on a journey with a traveling circus of "Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves." This caravan of mystics includes all of the interesting characters you might imagine; from the ringleader to the soothsayer and all of the characters and animals that go along with them. This translates into a variety of colorful prints, unique detailing and embellishments.

The Caravan print intertwines elephants with peacocks in a colorful grid; the Phoenix print mixes psychedelic zebra stripes with tiny dots; Leopard can be found in both print form as well as jacquard sweaters and beaded onto a chiffon tunic, complete with tail. A Suzani print is inspired by the traditional tribal textile from Central Asian countries; Hoffman's version comes in two colorways, Black with turquoise, pink, orange and yellow, or Poppy mixed with yellow, white and green.
The Trickster print is featured in a unique quilted bomber, a flirty strapless dress and combo pant as well as a fully embroidered shift dress and embroidered bomber.

Hoffman backstage with the models in some gorgeous outfits.
Don't those colors and geometric prints look fabulous.
And that earring headpiece, so gypsy its insane.

Among the first row of celebrities enjoying the festivities were: Kelly Framel of "The Glamourai" , Nastia Liukin (Olympic Athlete and Medalist), and Pamela Love (Jewelry Designer).

Here are some of my favorite looks:
Its safe to say I would wear everything. I feel inspired honestly.

#NYFW: Alexander Wang Fall 2013, Brrr Fur.

Another New York Fashion Week later and Alexander Wang is still bringing it on!
I watched this over livestream and was amazed at the space. Cathedral like ceilings and I heard it as held downtown. (The new uptown?)

Anyways, I loved the array of different hues of greys, blacks, navy, and white.
Plus the addition of textures and different materials, showing you can still be bad-ass, glam, and warm no?

What was very new was the upper arm length furry gloves, which I think will take the cake and pay homage to Chanel Fall 2010, where Chubaka ruled the fashion house. I think this will be popular and Im even daring to try this idea.
The cozy knit wedges, the leather paneling, sleeves, and additional to all the outfits. The black trousers i love the material it is a kind of matted look, subdued shine and a little loose.

The black squares sweater that has a metallic shine, warm and glam.
Burnout look circa Alexander Wang's earlier burnout knits, remember those?
Now this being done on leather and wool on both tops and bottoms. I really like the innovation.

And the deep pleated folds in those pants throughout the show, stole my heart.

It was sort of a menswear chicness to it. Feminine cuts, warmth, and coziness to this collection.
I look forward to seeing at on the racks at Bergdorfs this upcoming fall season!

Hello Lover, Sally Lapointe Fall 2013 at #NYFW Day 2

I've had the pleasure of attending the Sally Lapointe runway show for the first time, quite exciting. Walking in through the gritty entrance, none other than Selita Ebanks I saw passing. Took me a few minutes to realize it was actually her.

Finally got inside and got seating, in the 4th row which then turned into the 2nd.

I was awakened by a dark space yet with red laser stalks beaming up into the sky. I immediately thought some dark feeling yet with some light as the mood. Being in a sea nothingness yet, fighting to see the light.

I soon learned by program, inspiration was by Depeche Mode 's "In Your Room" ;) Electronica at its best. Dave would be proud. :]

 Show is starting!

Oxblood, black, and ombre going on. Very powerful combinations, feels like a girl thats very dark or deep finding her strength. And these looks are for sure badass.

The contours and tailoring of each piece to have an element of draping to it, I truly enjoyed. The lean silhouettes and clean cuts.

And there is our favorite leather. In a paneling across the stomach and on the bottom cut of sleeves, very neat! You can be minimalistic yet have a stylish touch of whatever texture to the outfit.

And the alligator printed matte and other pieces I loved. You can still be edgy yet glam with a little animal like fierceness.

Also loved that some of the tops had a gold chain holding the side by the waist together. That was very unique.

 Ending look:
This says it all.

I love how you can wear these with other pieces or the full outfit to drum up your mood or to your own style.
These neutral of blacks, reds (from a bright shade of cherry pink to Falu Red) , and whites that are so crisp and solid.
Final run through:

Looking forward to seeing more from Sally Lapointe and excited about next fall coming up.
